Can I get away with my old PSU?

My friend gifted me his old 4090. I am currently running an i79-700k, 32 GB RAM with a 3090 on a 750W power supply. Could I just replace the 4090 and get away with it, or do I really need to upgrade the PSU?

I mean u have a 4090 now u should get a new PSU for sure not just because it will likely need more wattage but a new PSU means new warranty and better build quality if u buy the right one, I wouldn't risk it personally

Yeah it’s seeming like that’s what I should do. It’s an unexpected expense but I could probably sell the old graphics card to help with the upgrade

Yeah its for the best, luckily now is one of the beat times to buy a PSU, with high quality units below $100

Yeah I was looking at PSUs they aren’t bad at all!

What's the exact model of your power supply?

uh, let me try and find out, one moment

Also, how old is it?

I think 5 years?

Ok, because that CPU came out in 2018. I'm just trying to figure out the vintage of your system. The older a power supply is, the less I trust it.
Honestly, I personally wouldn't trust a multi thousand dollar GPU to an undersized power supply.

that’s completely reasonable! I appreciate the input

If you undervolt it maybe but i would go for a bigger PSU if you wanna use.
They draw alot of power and if its overclocked it can go up to 600w so you have almost nothing left.
Better invest/waste for a bigger PSU then having your PC to die because of it and higher cost.
