To be loved is to be changed

Mine I’ve had since I was a kid and the same one who has yet to be well loved. He is a gift for someone who has also cuddled the OG, but when I saw them both, this quote sprung to mind.
PSA- if someone near to you gets strep throat, stay away because it’s very hard/impossible to convince an urgent care doctor that you have scarlet fever as an adult. Especially if said fever has you delirious saying “I’m going to die like Beth from Little Women!” They’ll probably just give you a mono test and a steroid prescription after saying “Wow, that’s a bad rash! Now you owe us $2,500. Good luck!” The next day, it was on my tongue. I spent the next two weeks in my bed with cold wet towels on my body, lost a regular acting gig and almost another and my job.
I had pictures of the rash and a doctor friend I met later said “that’s rheumatic fever.”
I have never been so physically miserable in my life, and I live in fear that I may get it again.

Littlefoot's Mother: Some things you see with your eyes, others you see with your heart.
Littlefoot: I don't understand, Mother.
Littlefoot's Mother: You will, my son. You will.

Man the Velveteen Rabbit made my scared as a kid anytime I got sick that my parents would have to burn my blankets and stuffed animals.
Anytime I got sick with a fever I’d always make sure to keep my favorite stuffed animals put away in a drawer so that wouldn’t happen.

Little Foot! I went to my first sleepover when I was about 5 and cried all night because I missed my mom. My friend's preschool brother let me hold his Little Foot to feel better, and for Christmas they gave me my very own. He was my favorite toy for so many years!

You can't live in fear. As someone who has suffered from a chronic illness most of my adult life, I've developed a way of taking the good with the bad. You become thankful for the good days and try not to dwell on the bad ones. Hope you feel better soon.
By the way - love the Land Before Time characters. I always thought that would become a continued franchise that would endure through the years. Now it seems to be semi-forgotten.
