How many jobs are you applying to before hearing back?

Feels like you literally have to apply to 200 odd jobs just to get a single reply. Reply may not even be an interview at either.
How many jobs have you applied to recently before finally hearing back?

Don't apply for 200 jobs, apply to 20 with tailored applications.

Never apply via job boards like LinkedIn, Indeed, Reed etc.
If you see a job ad on job boards, go directly to the company’s website and apply directly with them. You’re much more likely to get a response that way.
Especially because job boards tend to be way out of date - they seem to keep loads and loads of jobs on their platforms even when they’ve been closed. Going direct to the employer lets you see if they’re still hiring for the position or not.

I’m mainly using my network to find jobs/interviews as applying ‘cold’ has resulted in no response or a ‘thank you but no thank you’ response. I think that since November I’ve applied for 75-100 roles.

I don't want it to sound like I'm blowing my own horn but it's not all doom like Reddit makes it out to be. Since graduating uni last year I have applied to only two jobs, got offered an interview for each one, and then also offered a job from both. I am due to start the second in a couple months. It is possible!

First job in environmental consultantancy, second in environmental regulation.

I think I get about 3 responses per 100 applications. Although about 1-2 of those ghost before first interview. So 1 per 100 basically.
