I was listening to Floodland last night. It really was an exalted album: dark, grinding, aggressive, layered, danceable, and you could sing to it. Is there a Peter Murphy since Peter Murphy?

My favorite since then has been Celldweller/Circle of Dust.

A few years ago I found The Editors.
On a more mainstream vibe there's also The National consistent.
Interpol has been good.

Female version sorta, not dancey though: Chelsea Wolfe. Her album Abyss is just perfect. "Dragged Out" is a good single.
