Found this old modem in my condo's utility cabinet. Happy to give it away if someone wants it (Toronto). Lights come on and seems to be in working order :)

I'm curious of how one could produce their own signal to make one of these work within their LAN.
Really just for the novelty, there's not really an advantage to it other than just able to send signal on a coax, but other than that it slows bandwidth, adds latency, takes more energy, etc..
Would be really fun to figure out how to produce my own DOCSIS signal to make some old ewaste modems run again, within my own LAN.

I would presume this starts with picking up a CMTS. Whether you can plug this into the back of a CMTS or whether you need a whole whack of RF equipment to get the signal from one into a form the other can work with, who knows.
Look at what some of the folks on YouTube have done with T1s, ISDN, etc. And they were doing it without having the most obvious piece of equipment (a TDM phone switch).

It looks like the eMTA that Rogers was using for their original phone-over-cable service.
(I think these were technically cable modems and could do both phone and Internet, but it was Rogers policy to run phone on a separate DOCSIS channel while these could only tune one DOCSIS 2 channel, so Rogers never had a combined phone/Internet device until moving to the very-different-Ignite/Xfinity-home-phone service)

Always wondered why I had to use 2 boxes with Rogers. TIL.

It's an MTA, DOCSIS 2.0 data plus up to 2 phone lines. Horrible pos to deal with, roaches love to infest them.

See of Clabretro wants it.
I HATE those things. The FXS ports never put out anything close to Bell spec voltages and had issues playing nice with fax machines, alarm dialers, and business phone systems.

From vintage to junk iyam, just another cable modem.

Yeah I figured I'd check if someone wants it before it gets tossed in the landfill.
