I feel like it doesn’t make sense for them to want the Dude to see Uli, one of the supposed kidnappers. There was no scam until after they’ve met the Dude when Bunny goes out of town. What I’m not sure on, is whether or not the nihilists and the Big Lebowski are co-conspirators, or TBL was simply taking advantage of the fake kidnapping situation that the nihilists created.
