Boners are a thing that can pop for the first time way before you're even 5-6y. I don't think girls are taught about periods that young. I remember I had a similar version when I was maybe 4-5 years old, and went to the kitchen naked and asked my mom there why my D was standing 😭😭

I knew about periods as a child. There was a girl in my class who got her periods at like 8 and while it was younger than average it wasn't a shocking news, more like "oh she got hers pretty early"

My mom had never been prudish about it. She told me it was something that happened to girls, showed me how to put on a pad and told me to always carry one on me just in case years before I even got my periods. And even if she didn't tell me anything, the other kids also knew about it, it was like common knowledge

Maybe it's a country thing? I'm from Western Europe

Girls usually know periods exist from a very young age. It’s hard not to notice your mom buying pads and not ask what they are. Or seeing her use them. I mean, almost every kid followed their mom into the bathroom at some point when they were little.
