I played leap frog with this F-8 Crusader (N19TB) going East along I90. Any idea where it’s going?

TAI used to operate two F-8s with "N19TB" and "N37TB" in grey overall. According to the Air Britain info, this "N19TB" was a true hybrid, with the fuselage from F-8K 145592, tail-section also from an F-8K, F-8L wings and fitted with an F-8J P&W J-57-P-55 engine. This hybrid F-8 made its first flight on 25MAR87. After TAI went bankrupt "N19TB" was eventually sold to Microsoft's co-founder Paul Allen and registered Vulcan Warbirds Inc. This a/c on the above photo had a wing pylon which was painted in blue/gold checker, the same as its tail band. TAI's F-8s carried nose numbers (just like USN's modex #) #01 on N19TB and #02 on N37TB, though no other jets of TAI carried such nose numbers.

It’s actually moving East along I90, away from Everett. Possibly going to Bentonville, AK to be restored at The Roost with the new owners. (Or at least that’s my assumption after a little more digging.)

As a former F-8 maintenance tech, I never thought that the tie down points on the jet could be used on a trailer!

In heavy seas, we’d put 4 chains on each point. They would stay on until taxi, at which point the pilot would give a brushing motion on his arm and the deck crew would take the off

The follow-on XF8U-III (with a J75) competed against the F-4. While the Super Crusader was faster (they never knew the top speed; the canopies kept melting) and a better fighter, the F-4 was more versatile (and had a horrible kill/loss ratio in Vietnam).
