CDL Obtained!

thank you guys for all your help, I passed it this last Monday fully endorsed with no manual restriction ! I have a job at Werner enterprises; this Monday is orientation. I’ve heard shoddy things about the company but they offered me a decentish dollar tree account where I’ll atleast be home weekends. my friend told me he had great luck with the company and now he barely works only as a leader and is home daily on a great route and makes good pay. he obviously told me the bad and the good but he did clarify the routes kind of lame; you have to unload it yourself but he said a foot in the door all in all it’s not a bad route. my question is what should I do, my dream is to have a cool 379, W900, classic freightliner, and haul lowboys; how do I transition into that field of work; I do wanna be an owner operator some day but I need some advice on what to work for. I also wouldn’t totally be opposed to a dedicated account for Walmart or something; too many options to choose. but what do you guys recommend?

How much will you be making? I just graduated CDL school and was warned to never touch that dollar tree stuff.
I'm about to be hired for home every day local food service with a 1500/wk guarantee but avg pay between 1800-2200 and I don't think our workloads will be much different. You might want to look into it.

What company? I think I’ll average 1800 a week

congrats man, get that first year in and dont worry too much about it being perfect yet, experience is the golden ticket in trucking, run the account, keep your record clean, save cash, then start hunting heavy haul / lowboy gigs once you’ve got miles and time

If you don’t plan on having a 401k then good luck

Is this because they got rid of their 401k matching
