Great time to get whatever NFA item your getting or have into a trust.
BoogrJoosh@reddit
This or a silencershop gun trust? Already have two single shots through them, and my LGS is a dealer of theirs.
Mahlegos@reddit
This. You can consolidate your two single shots into it and have everything under one. And you can make changes to things like co-trustees and beneficiaries at any time should you need to. And you can use this trust for future silencer shop (and anywhere else) purchases too, you just upload a scan of it to your SS profile and you’re good.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Are you planning on purchasing more NFA firearms?
usedwolf@reddit
Just got one, thanks!. The process was super fast and easy. The staff is amazing. Check if your bank has free e-notary before paying for their service, though. It took me less than an hour from purchase to having a fully notarized document.
Mahlegos@reddit
Even if your bank doesn’t have e-notary, they most likely will offer free notary services in person.
SIDESHOW-ROB@reddit
If you buy a trust can you just keep adding to it?
armond21@reddit
Indefinitely. You have to make assignment sheets to add more items. The website has forms to auto generate them.
223specialist@reddit
Do you then have to submit that to anyone? Or get it re norarized?
armond21@reddit
In my understanding, you can leave the assignment sheets open to add new items, but you should have it notarized when it’s full. You’re not required to submit that to anyone including the ATF for approval on new items, just your original trust documents.
SIDESHOW-ROB@reddit
Can it be from multiple sites?
armond21@reddit
I think you mean purchases from multiple places? Yes, absolutely. I have items from multiple different retailers, LGS, and a handful of my own things that I put on a Form 1.
Lanky-Gear8490@reddit
Can I put items that I already own on it?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes you can add title 1 firearms that you own into the gun trust. NFA firearms that you own can be transferred into your gun trust using the ATF Form 4/eForm 4.
SIDESHOW-ROB@reddit
Oo ok thanks
JohnWickStuntDouble@reddit
Any reason this is better than doing the free silencer shop single shots?
CharmingPainMan@reddit
I'm wondering why not just have chatgpt make one, these days?
Mahlegos@reddit
Piece of mind is a big part of it I think. These guys are accredited professionals who specialize in this, and who are available basically at all hours to provide support if you have questions or mess anything up. They’re also much less likely to hallucinate random shit into the middle of your trust that you don’t catch until you have everything notarized and items assigned.
CharmingPainMan@reddit
These documents are not that complicated.
Peace of mind is worth money though i agree with you.
Redditnspiredcook@reddit
So, run something that could cost you your last day of freedom and everything you’ll ever earn as a free person through a free pseudo intelligence, that really does nothing more than predictive stringing of words together. All to save $45, sure. You should go ahead and try identifying some tasty mushrooms while you’re at it.
CharmingPainMan@reddit
It's a document. It's like an extremely simple thing. You put your name in it. It's not like these sellers are re inventing the magna carta every time.
Mahlegos@reddit
Outside of it being free and some very niche use cases where it would be helpful to have an individual trust like you share a single NFA item between like you and a buddy, and you don’t want any of your other items tied to or accessible to them, this is better all around because you can assign multiple items under the same umbrella instead of having to keep track of each individual single shot trust, and you can easily change the co-trustees and inheritors if need be.
nukey18mon@reddit
If you want to put other NFA items on it ig
Hoyle33@reddit
Is this a good thing to buy when I already have so many NFA items that I filed as Individual?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
You can use the gun trust for your future NFA firearms. You can also consolidate your NFA firearms into one gun trust too.
Fun_Assignment_269@reddit
So, since tax stamps are $0 now, this would essentially be $59 to transfer all of my NFA items to a trust in one go?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes that is correct. But, you would still need to supply the ATF with a passport photo and fingerprints.
SnooBooks770@reddit
Thanks for confirming! You should update your FAQs to remove mention of pausing the $200 tax stamp for transferring each existing NFA item into the trust.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
We removed that, thank you for bringing that to our attention.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Explain to me what a gun trust is like a I am a five-year old.: It's a legal document that allows multiple people to share and use certain types of firearms, like suppressors or short-barreled rifles. The trust is a legal entity that officially owns the guns in it, and the trust beneficiaries are legally permitted to continue using the firearms after the owner's death by transferring the firearms to them either using the ATF Form 5 or by abiding by any state or federal transfer laws. Firearms within the gun trust would also skip probate.
Can I use your gun trust with my Silencer Shop Account/Orders?: Yes, you can use our gun trust with your Silencer Shop account and orders. Simply upload a copy of your notarized gun trust to your Silencer Shop account, and they will use it for your future orders. Our gun trust is also more affordable compared to Silencer Shop's traditional gun trust.
Can you add a co-trustee in the future?: Yes, you can use the co-trustee amendment that is included with the gun trust to add a co-trustee in the future. Already approved tax stamps won't require added co-trustees to submit paperwork to the ATF. You would only need to send the newly added co-trustees information to the ATF when you are applying for a new tax stamp.
Can I purchase an NFA item before getting it notarized?: Yes you can. You would only need to have the gun trust notarized before you can apply for a tax stamp.
Can I transfer individually owned NFA firearms into a gun trust?: Yes, you can add individually owned NFA firearms into a gun trust. By transferring the firearms from yourself as an individual to the gun trust using ATF Form 4, you can enjoy the benefits of the trust while still possessing the firearms during the approval process. But note, that you would need to pay the ATF $200 again per NFA firearm to transfer the NFA firearm from yourself as an individual to your gun trust.
Can I make changes to the gun trust in the future? What does that process look like?: Yes, you can make changes to the gun trust in the future. The process for making changes to the gun trust is simple. You can print the appropriate amendment form, complete it, have it notarized, signed, and dated. Once notarized, the amendment is considered executed and effective. The gun trust amendments are included free with our gun trust paperwork.
Are there any additional fees to setup a NFA gun trust?: No, the charge of $29.98 for the gun trust is a one-time charge. Once you purchase the trust, there are no additional fees or recurring charges associated with it. However, when applying for a tax stamp there are costs associated with fingerprinting, passport photos, the ATF tax stamp itself. You may need to pay for a notary to notarize the trust, although there are many free notaries at banks, you can use a friend, co-worker, etc.
How fast are gun trusts approved by the ATF?: The gun trust isn't necessarily "pre-approved" by the ATF. The ATF will review your gun trust when you apply for a tax stamp. The current wait times for tax stamp approvals from the ATF are experiencing delays. While the ATF states a wait time of 45 days, the actual delivery of approved tax stamps can take 90+ days or more for a gun trust. We have seen our gun trusts approved in as little as 10 days in many cases.
Do you still need to add the approved silencer using the assignment sheet even if I have an approved tax stamp? Yes, you do need to add the approved silencer using the assignment sheet even if you already have an approved tax stamp. The assignment sheet is typically used to transfer title 1 firearms into the gun trust or add title 2 firearms after the tax stamp approval.
xGloriousLeader@reddit
Is this still accurate?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
No that was taken away in January for most NFA firearms.
meiswhitey@reddit
We still have to pay $200 to transfer from individual to trust?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
No that was taken away in January for most NFA firearms.
1speedbike@reddit
This is super helpful, thank you so much. I only have a single silencer and no other NFA items. From this FAQ it looks like I can transfer ownership from my individual status to the trust after creating one. My question is that if I've already been fingerprinted by the silencer shop (digital fingerprint), do I need to purchase the etf fingerprint service for the trust? Or anything else in general, since I already submitted the passport style photo to the ATF?
I am honestly so terrible at anything legal related, and as easy as the silencer shop made the suppressor purchase, to me it was still ridiculously convoluted and difficult lol. Id probably need a lot of hand holding with this.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
If you are able to get your .EFT File from silencer shop, you won't need to get an .EFT File. If you are unable to, you would want to look into ordering the .EFT File when you are ordering the gun trust.
1speedbike@reddit
Thanks so much for the info! Looks like SS doesn't want to give out the EFT file. There might be some workaround through the ATF site if there's an attached file to a previously filed form... but for me it doesn't seem to be there. Looks like I'll need to do the EFT then! Is there anything else that I would need to set up a trust? I can get free notarizing services through my bank.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
No that would be it. If you ever need the binder or lamination services, you can order them later.
1speedbike@reddit
Awesome. Again, thank you so much for the help. At the time I got my suppressor, I didn't really think about the consequences of applying as an individual vs trust, which are apparently quite significant. Is the code good all weekend?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes it will be good all weekend.
1speedbike@reddit
You've been super helpful, I really appreciate it!

Is there actually a deal for $29.98 right now? I'm seeing $38.97 in cart from OP's link.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
No there isn't. We have updated our post. OP's link is correct.
anhadd@reddit
What if I already have an NFA registered as an individual? Can I move to the trust?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes you can you move your NFA firearm from yourself to a gun trust using the ATF Form 4/eForm 4. That is a $0 transfer now.
IggyWon@reddit
Solid service for getting your fingerprint cards converted into that secure file format the ATF and fucking nobody else likes to use.
King_of_Teets@reddit
If you plan on buying multiple NFA items, get this.
BestMillimeter18@reddit
This guy fuck. I bought a trust on Thanksgiving night and emailed a question, thinking I’ll get a response the next week. He responded within 5 minutes at 4AM, and walked me through the whole process.
Legal-Practice2445@reddit
That’s crackhead response speed, amazing
Korcfutz@reddit (OP)
I'd say this is a very smart way of passing belongings on, if anything were to happen. This is why I started my process into a trust.
bjchu92@reddit
You don't need to a trust to pass on NFA items to your loved ones. There's just a little paperwork involved but it does not require a dealer to handle. Just filing with the ATF.
That said, a trust is good for situations where you can't be present and your family may need to use one your NFA items. Why I have one setup so my wife can use my SBR if I'm not home.
Jobhater2@reddit
This service is great. They also answer questions when you ask them.
Shaolin_Lu@reddit
If I already bought a trust, would I be able to rearrange it so that it’s just me on it and not everyone in my family, that way I can transfer all my stuff to it and then add them after it all gets approved?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes, you can amend your gun trust to make those changes, or we can recreate your gun trust with the changes for you.
admiralbuttscratcher@reddit
Not only do they do the trust, their website will help you fill out other forms and has lots of guidance and info for newbies.
staticishock96@reddit
What do I do with a gun trust? Can someone explain real quick why I need one?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
A gun trust helps you pass down your firearms to your named beneficiaries without having to go through probate. While you are alive, you can add other responsible persons to the gun trust, who can use your NFA Firearms without your supervision.
staticishock96@reddit
Can an LLC have a trust?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Gun trusts are separate entities and are typically not combined with LLC's.
Redditnspiredcook@reddit
Are there any special considerations if one were to want to have a trust for non-NFA items? Just for easily passing down firearms.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
No there isn't. You can use our gun trust for your non-NFA firearms too.
Mahlegos@reddit
It allows you to have multiple NFA items effectively owned by the trust which means in the event something happens to you then your designated heir can take over the trust without there being a bunch of hoops to jump through with transfers and paperwork for each item.
Further, if you want to share an NFA item, without a trust, you as the owner have to be present for it to be handled or used. With a trust you can set a co-trustee so if you want to let your brother borrow your SBR you can. Or if your spouse needs to use an NFA item for home defense then they are legally allowed to if they are a trustee (maybe the police wouldn’t jam you up on it, but not worth the risk).
AlexSandman8964@reddit
Can somebody explain to me the benefits registering nfa items under gun trusts? Is it just for inheritance purposes? Or register under a trust gets you able to carry nfa across states hassle free?

If i have a pistol now that I want to SBR, do I buy just the NGT trust now? Once I have the trust name, i'll file for NFA stamp with ATF using that trust as the name, and only then will i need to buy electronic fingerprints?
Mahlegos@reddit
Yes. If you plan on putting it into a trust you need to have the trust established before you file the paperwork.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes that is correct. You would only need the fingerprint cards or .EFT File when you are applying for a tax stamp.
SonnyInAZ@reddit
I’m planning to buy my first suppressor. I assume this is how you keep all the NFA items on a trust and can be passed down?
These guys also sell add on items for this. Is it recommended to get those as well?
Mahlegos@reddit
If you are considering the digital print, make sure you check the closest locations. None of the UPS stores around me did it so I would have had to travel over an hour one way and they were only open like 8-4 m-f so I couldn’t realistically make it work and ended up just doing my prints when I bought through Capitol Armory and ontaining my EFT that way. If you have a place local, it can be a good deal to get it through them.
HowAboutNitricOxide@reddit
It depends. My LGS does digital prints included with any NFA transfer/purchase, so I’m not going to pay for a PrintScan service separately. But if you have to pay for them anyway, or for another individual who isn’t individually buying an NFA item, you might as well.
Korcfutz@reddit (OP)
Your key word being 'First' Id say getting the .EFT file service so you only have to do one time prints.
The other add on(s) are your preference really.
jadbaugh@reddit
Can I set up the trust before I actually own any NFA items?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit
Yes you can. You would need to have your gun trust created and notarized, before you can use it with your NFA Firearms/tax stamp applications.
lil-beer-kuzi@reddit
So if I have me and one co trustee and we add items in the future we each have to keep getting re finger printed each time right? Also how easy is it to transfer form a single shot trust to this trust
PresidentStone@reddit
I bought a fingerprinting kit from this site and fingerprinted myself.
I then set my fingerprints to Wojtek Weaponry. They scan it and send you back a .EFT file. You should be able to use that file for life - unless your fingerprints change.
I did all e-forms. You have to get the first few pages of your trust signed and notarized. I then recommend scanning them as well.
WoodenGlobes@reddit
Hey, just wondering why you didnt just use NGT fingerprint service, they seem to offer sending you paper cards and then digitizing them as a service. Was it just free from Wojtek?
PresidentStone@reddit
No - I didn't think of checking with NGT, if so I would have used them. I looked up .EFT services and was recommended Wojtek and some other place in Pennsylvania or something.
WoodenGlobes@reddit
tyvm for the response. i might just go with NGT for both just cuz of the deal. finally a deal on r/gundeals, take a screenshot.
55thParallel@reddit
And Nate at Wojtek is the man and we should support his shop!
Korcfutz@reddit (OP)
You can also get a EFT file made through them for the both of you that can be used over and over.
I don't have experience with trust transfers yet, as far as your other question.
PutridDropBear@reddit
only if you are using paper forms and/or snail mail
Hisetic@reddit
I was about to get one of these setup, ended up getting lazy and forgetting. Glad I did!
DejaJaws@reddit
Knowing nothing about a trust is it smart to get it now for when I purchase suppressors later?
Korcfutz@reddit (OP)
It cant hurt. You need one to assign to the suppressor before you purchase it unless your doing the single shot trust at your LGS.
armond21@reddit
If you're getting into NFA stuff, these are absolutely worth it. If you currently own things as an individual, or on single shot trusts, this is a great way to consolidate them.
There's tons of info about how they work on their website, and if you have any questions after you read their info, they respond super quick to help you understand.
10/10, one of the best purchases I've made as an NFA item owner.
Bino-culars@reddit
Can someone ELI5 a trust for NFA items? Just bought a couple suppressors and went individual, is it just a peace of mind thing?
SassySasquatch_1776@reddit
Trust allows for easier handling if you were to pass away. Or for multiple people to be "responsible persons" with access to the NFA items. As an individual, you must be present to use the NFA item (you couldn't loan it to a friend without being there). For a trust, any listed responsible person can have access to the NFA item or use it without other listed persons.
Bino-culars@reddit
Awesome thanks for reply understanding now!
Fabulous_Operation_9@reddit
Its easier to pass it to your family otherwise your family members have to do thier own forms who ever is gonna inherit it with the ATF. I forgot what's it called but its basically a transfer form. During the process the nfa item has to be secured and cannot be touched until its done.
