it's hard to get them to iceland. saw one in lapland (you don't really need one in lapland just winter tires, for the most part, like it's not like they got tracks so you're basically limited to roads anyway)
Iceland is AMAZING for this! You will find mods like the parked at the grocery store like “nothing to see here… this is just what I need to get to my house”. And they aren’t joking.
If this caught your eye and you are considering a trip to Iceland you should totally do one of the jeep tours. Crossing a racing river in a van with 40” tires is so much fun.
We went with Midgard and 1000% recommend. Let me know if you want details on the actual tour we went on but I think they are season and weather an availability. *also recommend the dinner at the restaurant (same place that runs tours). One of the best days of our family trip.
There's this Icelandic company, Artic Trucks, who did a couple of famous builds. At least a Toyota Hilux for Top Gear that Jeremy Clarkson and James May successfully drove in 1996 to the Magnetic North Pole in Canada and Colin Furze's homage to Marty McFly’s legendary 1985 Toyota SR5.
It actually resembles a rollerskate. Not hateing on it just it was a common description of the little ones hatchbacks with 17's. But this actually looks like a big rollerskate.
Probably useful too, even if the over fenders are a bit hilarious

That's funny, my photo was also taken at Gullfoss in September 2023.

Haha that’s when we were there. 30th September for me. A beautiful place, can’t wait to get back and explore more.

If you've got illfær vegur, you need a fitting ride. Srsly, google the phrase.
machukahn@reddit
Illfær Vegur = any road which is inaccessible by car and 4WD only
SjalabaisWoWS@reddit
I know, that's why I mention it. :)

Reminds me of these behemoths we saw rolling in on our campsite when we were roadtripping Iceland a couple of years ago
Lalli-Oni@reddit
Superjeeps is a concept here. Arctic trucks provided top gear with the cars that got them to the north pole.

Would love to take one for a drive

Weird way to spell "perfectly executed beautiful badass car mods"
blackbasset@reddit
Still more aesthetic and less ridiculous looking than current BMW models.
Huge tires > huge nostrils and off proportions
KittySharkWithAHat@reddit
This is what it takes for a BMW X-class to actually be half-decent offroad.
