“There is an assumption here and a bias that all Muslims and all Hindu practitioners are immigrants and they do not belong.”
I'm going to need you to expand on that, lady
ChicagoRay312@reddit
Take lots of pictures so we can put them in history books in the future. They’ll go great next to the pro-segregation black and white photos that we apparently didn’t learn from.
grim1757@reddit
Do they even allow them to be shown in schools anymore?
medisamurai@reddit
they might have seen that pic of jerry jones

It's crazy how Frisco keeps pulling in so much business given how hateful and ignorant the loudest residents are. If I owned a business I wouldn't want it in a place where my employees could face this level of hatred and discrimination because they aren't perfect little evangelicals.

Frisco used to be farm land not too long ago. And it's still North Texas. Plenty of bigots to go around.
All of that being said, I do kind of understand why some people might have problems with the changes in Frisco. Some immigrant groups are really bad about integrating into American society.
Such-Professor6271@reddit
People really don't have to integrate. There's plenty of white american tourist places in Mexico where people speak english and have not assimilated. If there is a big enough community for you to fit in, you don't need to integrate 100%
Return-of-Trademark@reddit
That’s…..not a good thing
boldjoy0050@reddit
Yeah, and the local people hate that. Expats suck. Ask people in Mexico City what they think about gringos moving there and working remote jobs.
Such-Professor6271@reddit
welp whether they like it or not there's immigrants in every country.
boldjoy0050@reddit
Sure but it’s all about how you behave. If I move to France and wear Buc-ees clothes everywhere, complain about how bad French food is and only eat American food, and don’t bother to learn the language, I’m not going to be welcomed with open arms that’s for sure.
Such-Professor6271@reddit
well yeah that's rude behavior, you don't necessarily have to learn the language but just respect the culture and country
Mooshuchyken@reddit
At least some of the racist agitators are not Frisco residents. They're D-tier celebrities in the MAGA-sphere.
Jake Lang spoke at the event. He's a resident of Lake Worth, Florida. He's mostly famous for being a pardoned Jan 6ther. He also tried to organize a pro-ICE rally in an immigrant neighborhood in Minneapolis that attracted less than a dozen supporters.
He's trying to court the extreme right. He's Jewish by ancestry, but burned the Talmud and gave a Nazi salute in front of AIPAC's headquarters in DC. He's promoted anti-semetic conspiracy theories and blamed Jews and Muslims for "white replacement genocide."
Ironically, the far-right figures he's trying to impress, like Nick Fuentes, don't accept him because of his heritage.
Such-Professor6271@reddit
You're correct per his quote at the Frisco meeting "IF I lived in Texas....." these folks travel from red state to red state to make it seem like they are the majority when it's just the same 10 hateful dudes from kansas and kentucky
BamaPhils@reddit
Businesses don’t care. They care that the land is cheaper/more available and the real estate has good resale potential in 20 years after their incentives the city hands out like candy run out
pianistafj@reddit
It’d be cool if they put the same energy into healthcare, education, and keeping rent/property taxes from skyrocketing.

A debate over proposed religious facility projects in Frisco brought out a massive crowd Tuesday night and quickly expanded into broader arguments over culture, immigration, religion, and Frisco’s identity.
Supporters described Frisco as diverse and welcoming, while opponents argued the city was changing too quickly. The meeting lasted nearly five hours and included several tense moments inside council chambers.

“Changing too quickly”
Kaleb_Bunt@reddit
It’s really concerning how many people care more about their stupid culture wars battles than upholding the actual systems of government that made America as great as it was.
jollytoes@reddit
Every religion is a breeding ground for pdos and their victims. A quick news search will prove me right.
ChicagoRay312@reddit
It’s always interesting watching people argue over their imaginary friends.
Saamari@reddit
Anyone there speaking out against religious freedom should be ashamed of themselves
threeoldbeigecamaros@reddit
They should be, but they won’t.
