Hi, Yes, we dont have that tier of licencing in schools ;-(
itskdog@reddit
If you have A3 or higher, you have Entra P1
ExceptionEX@reddit
Guessing it's a student account
teriaavibes@reddit
Student M365 licenses are generally free, Microsoft has a very generous academic licensing program.
ExceptionEX@reddit
I mean it sounds like he is a student in a school tenant.
zippytiff@reddit (OP)
Ha ! No not a student. I have a case opened with Microsoft to get this escalated to make it available on the free tier…. Let’s see, it’s not Like it’s a luxury…. It’s part of cyber security
teriaavibes@reddit
Good luck with that, Microsoft is not changing their business model off of a user complain about cost.
zippytiff@reddit (OP)
Well, you never know, you are probably right…. But they should want schools to have the best chance of not being hacked and managing cyber
teriaavibes@reddit
Schools are already getting licenses for basically free.
Free student licenses and insanely discounted faculty licenses.
zippytiff@reddit (OP)
I don’t think there is any FREE, it maybe FREE to the schools, but the education authorities pay centrally
teriaavibes@reddit
No, students are literally free if you license faculty.
ExceptionEX@reddit
Haha man sadly MS whole business model is up selling lisc to get access to security.
teriaavibes@reddit
Well yea, because it costs them money, why give it away for free and take the financial hit,
itskdog@reddit
Yeah 1:40 ratio is nice. The free versions don't come with Defender licences, however.
teriaavibes@reddit
Only defender for endpoint licenses.
teriaavibes@reddit
If they had that license, it wouldn't throw the insufficient license error.
ThisIsSam_@reddit
In theory just purchase 1 P1 licence and then be able to run these reports.....
teriaavibes@reddit
Yea, only for that one specific user that has that license
ExceptionEX@reddit
Many things Ms related a single p1 will work tenant wide, it violates EULA and doesn't work for somethings but is worth a try.
teriaavibes@reddit
Licensing violation is worth a try? Did you get lost? This is r/sysadmin
