Cloud nine?

Anyone have experience using tents from cloud nine out of Bend, OR? I am thinking about picking up the cumulus hybrid tent for all weather camping in the pnw and wondering if cloud nine is a reputable option. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I can’t find much online.

RUN away from this one. I got a Cumulas. What a POS. Condensation, zippers getting stuck and the tent material itself started wearing out after about 3 weeks of use (Combined) over a period of 3 months. Customer service was nothing short of crap. My gut was telling me the price was to good to be true. Excuses and BS getting it in from the guy. Always delays. 6 months AFTER when I was suppossed to get it it finally arrived. Paperwork still in it....From China. Was able to track down the same company and tent which lists on alibaba for $600..... If you want a garbage RTT then this is the one. Just waste less money and get the exact one on Alibaba all this guy did was slap his logo on it.

Oh man, I got a cumulas since I posted this and everything has been nice so far but the condensation issue is definitely a thing, I’ve never had a real issue with condensation before this tent. Hopefully the other issues you describe don’t happen to me. I’ve put over 20 nights on it so far and nothing too bad yet. When you describe the tent material wearing out where exactly did it happen? I’m a little worried about the waterproofing of the material since the price.

Pros and cons so far? I just ordered one last night. Should be arriving in a couple of weeks. Customer service and communication has been incredible so far.

Honestly I dig it so far, I’ve put over 25-30 nights on it since I got it in march and the only real issue I’ve seen so far is just condensation buildup but I don’t really think that’s a cloud nine issue just something that happens with tents.

Good to hear. Excited to get mine.

Cloud 9 is owned by the former owner/founder of CVT tents. CVT, Topoak, Cloud 9, 4x4 Colorado all make this similar style hard shell tent with slightly different feature. If you can find a 4x4 Colorado Alto, it has a rising hinge that gives it a bit more room, and clearance, which is nice if you have an awning. I have owned four CVT tents over the years (Mt Denali Summit Series, Mt Denali Hybrid, and the Bush Co/CVT Alpha (AX27), and Black Series Max, so I'd choose Cloud 9 for that reason alone. super great customer service. CVT as really cool too, but at a premium (2x the price). Topoak is probably the second choice realistically, and 4x4 Colorado made some bad biz decisions and went out of business. Anyway, hope that helps. If you're still looking at Cloud 9, I'd go with them in a heartbeat!

You can't find anything online because these are the same Chinese tents as the ones on Amazon for $4-500 more.

Damn that’s a shame, I thought it was just CVT rebranded

I'm pretty sure CVT is the same business model. I haven't seen any newer tents from them in years up here in WA.
