At 4 particles per cubic metre, it is in fact not visible, even up close.

The names aren't incorrect. The name "great pacific garbage patch" says nothing about the mass concentration. "Artificial intelligence" is a very general term and debates about what is or is not such and such conception of "real" AI doesn't make it invalid in any way, "intelligence" has a broad definition that covers all of it, and in practice when someone tries to debate "LLMs aren't real AI" it's just social signaling from people trying to create the illusion they have advanced natural intelligence.
