Gaming Laptop for LLM and SD

Does anyone have experiences with Laptops like Razor Blade 18 (5090) or Legion 9i Gen 10 for running bigger LLm and Stable Diffusion?
I expect the performance to be slightly lower but still doable compared to a PC - or am I missing something?

Laptop GPUs are a good % slower IMO. Heat issues, laptops often fail sooner than a desktop. Unless you really need it too be mobile... if you can call it that with the weight and will need to be connected to power most of the time.

I am just starting in that area and thought a laptop would be a good compromise, but not sure tbh

It's a lot lower. The mobile 5090 has ~900GB/s memory bandwidth and the desktop 5090 has ~1.8TB/s.
Yes, probably. 900GB/s is still very good and faster than what most of this sub is used to, just don't get caught up in discussions about regular 5090's.

Thanks for the clarification, that was helpful.
