Best today is probably the Qwen Image / Qwen Image Edit 2509 Duo. Qwen Image in particular needs Loras to get a good photorealism style, but it's good out of the box for a lot of graphics work, which is what it was likely optimized for.

Flux2 may catch up once the ecosystem builds, depending on how easy or hard it is to train.

Z-Image is a barrel of monkeys to play with but under serious evaluation it's clearly a lot weaker than Qwen Image. Which makes sense as it has a little over 1/4 the parameters. People love it because it is fast, fits on small GPUs and is overfit to generating pictures of hot girls with textured skin, but it's far from SOTA. I will admit there's something fun to churning out an image every 2 seconds as you furiously edit the prompt instead of waiting 12s for Qwen Image to make the "same thing"
