I prefer the older livery tbh, it stood out more.
DullMind2023@reddit
The toothpaste one?
True-Industry-4057@reddit
That one, yeah. Super unique colours. This one looks very clean, but is a bit blander imo
WhiskeyMikeMike@reddit
Eh, maybe when it was new
SlapThatAce@reddit
Same! But because they look like flying raccoons hahah
RogueViator@reddit
Raccoon Eyes it was called when it first came out.
I’m not a fan personally. They already had a similar colour scheme in the early 2000s.
2manyiterations@reddit
Early 2000s was dark green. And still better than the toothpaste!

Every time one lands in Schiphol, AMS LIVE says it's here to rob a bank

Tyler Brule, the guy behind this rebranding, is one of the biggest human frequent flyers on Earth, and also a neat freak. He did the original SWISS livery when Crossair reorganized to become Swiss International Air Lines and succeed Swissair.
Of course he could do an eye mask to "disappear" the unique individual cockpit windows on different aircraft types, in the name of a tidier, business-like look.

Ugly as home-made soap.

I remember a thread a while back asking why some planes “slutty eyeliner” and now that’s a heat I hear in my head when I see the black window border.
imaguitarhero24@reddit
Slutty eyeliner has also been in my head rent free
CreativeHeight6390@reddit
It looks terrible. The previous livery was modern, unique and gorgeous. This was a massive step backwards.
poser765@reddit
Ah yes. The slutty eyeliner.

The mask was inspired by indigenous birds here in Canada. It makes the airplanes stand out, which was the goal. Personally, I like it as well.
HelloSlowly@reddit
I man to each their own.
To me personally, I never realised how much ‘personality’ a plane got just by their cockpit windows and this takes away from it.
Darius2112@reddit
I know it’s to reduce glare for the pilots, but I don’t care for it aesthetically.
Huffy_too@reddit
Reminds me of JD.
RobertWilliamBarker@reddit
I revert to them as masks. One of my favorite liveries.
