Seeing someone highlight text with their mouse, navigate up into the edit menu, click copy….
BoringExperience5345@reddit
I still do that, but I rarely use my laptop. I’m almost exclusively working on my phone.
mrnoonan81@reddit
Or right click and select copy
epidemicsaints@reddit
Watch me dazzle them with my Alt-Tab wizard hands.
caramelpupcorn@reddit
You can extra freak them out by quickly swipe texting on your phone instead of painfully typing in words, letter by letter.
TopRedacted@reddit
I've done tech support for a long time. None of us are immune. Gen Z is inventing new ways to use computers worse than before.
_TheWolfOfWalmart_@reddit
It's actually amazing seeing how so much of Gen Z lacks absolute, basic fundamental technical knowledge despite being the first gen to truly grow up with this stuff from the beginning.
You wouldn't believe how many don't even know what folders are.
101violations@reddit
I didn't realize how bad this was until recently. It's like no one under 35 knows how to use basic MS Office or google programs. Forget trying to explain One Drive, email etiquette, file naming conversions..
Additional_Data_Need@reddit
They get offended when you tell them how to take a screenshot, so we just get an endless stream of photos of computer screens.
TopRedacted@reddit
They do not give a shit about file extensions or folder structures. It's why they constantly want 15 top level SharePoint groups for the exact same thing but with slightly different names and people on it.
_TheWolfOfWalmart_@reddit
We made the damn computers too easy for them.
*shakes fist at clouds*
TopRedacted@reddit
I really want an old iMac to threaten people with. Keep messing around and it's back to 1999.
enters_and_leaves@reddit
But I want an old iMac. Those had Odell Down Under and Oregon Trail on them.
HomelessKitchenCat@reddit
They didnt have the experience any of the rudimentary phases of computing. Just entering prompts in MSDOS was fundamental back then. It would be a nightmare for most kids these days.
Awesam@reddit
Do tell!
TopRedacted@reddit
Using Canva to reinvent the outlook calendar in a way that works way worse but looks adorable.
Doing everything in audio notes and expecting there to be a way to make that convert to planner.
Sending meeting time picker links instead of just replying to an email with something that would take less than a paragraph to answer.
Awesam@reddit
I have no idea what any of that is. Should I hang an onion from my belt?
Homelessavacadotoast@reddit
Wait, is that not the style anymore?
TopRedacted@reddit
You might as well. Everything is just zoom calls and smiley face stickers in slack now.
Scrotchety@reddit
On the flipside... I don't know if it's my slow-ass phone but it seems like more big ol' buttons inside regular apps need to be poked more than once before anything happens. That happening to anyone else?
DoubleRightClick@reddit
Ahem.
avalonfaith@reddit
Similar, if not same, ahem.
DoubleRightClick@reddit
Post nasal. Ahem. 😁
avalonfaith@reddit
I always wonder...what about prenasal? Why doesn't air get any credit?
Also file under "things that make you go, hmm..."
everythinghappensto@reddit
Every once in a while I realize I just did that and become very embarrassed, even though no one else could have seen it.
_TheWolfOfWalmart_@reddit
YES! That's one of my biggest technology pet peeves. I scream internally.
Acceptingoptimist@reddit
When I see AI slop.
Either-Sentence3652@reddit
Every single day!
