Honestly, it feels like most action figures and stuff are marketed toward us. Do kids today even care about action figures? My little nephew always wanted video games or game cards (like for Fortnite) growing up.

You can see from my photo I am a Power Rangers/Super Sentai fan. They 100% market to adults. We get memorial editions like crazy. Top left corner, the MMPR first season zords, were $850 retail.

Nowadays a 3.75" scale action figure can be on the order of $20. For a single goddamn figure. In order to have anywhere near a playable amount, you're looking at close to, if not more than, $100.

I’m sure glad I enjoyed my toys as a child. Now I don’t have to spend ridiculous amounts of money for things to sit and on a shelf.

A lot of the appeal for adults collecting this stuff is that many weren't able to get these items as kids due to not having money or other factors.

When I was a kid, one Transformer I always wanted, but could never get, was Shockwave. Well now, I managed to snag a Masterpiece Shockwave. Plus, a Fortress Maximus.
Kid me would be in sheer awe at the things I've found. I think of kid me and get happy every time I get something that he would never have been able to get.

Reminds me of Lego's new Star Trek sets. $500... Get outta here

I was surprised it was only $500, TBH. It is one of the cheaper licensed sets they've released over the last 10 years or so. Dont get me wrong. It's still way more than I would pay, though.

But I already give so much money
