What rainy day games do you remember playing when you couldn't go outside?

Hell yeah! Teachers in the group, do kids still play this anymore?

One of my fifth graders got to choose what we did for recess today. The choices were between four corners and heads up 7-Up guess which one he picked.

What is "Four Corners?" Not familiar.

One kid is it. They sit with their eyes covered. The rest of the kids go pick one of four corners to stand in. It kid chooses a number 1-4. Kids in that corner sit at their desks. Keep going until 1 kid is left.

That sounds fun actually! A new game

Plastic blocks when I was younger and then legos, and always tons of books. Why can’t my work appreciate a good rainy day and let me just read all day?? Gorgeous day so wasted on meetings.

I was way too old when I realized that game was made up just to keep us quiet for an hour.

Atari, Nintendo, Connect Four, cards? I mean, way more games to play indoors, honestly.

Connect Four and Hungry Hungry Hippos were definitely found in every grade school classroom 30+ years ago. These were inside recess staples on a rainy day.

My daughter and her classmates play heads up, seven up. Made me very happy to learn this game is alive and well in 2025.

My teachers had a genius game they called "silent ball"
Basically catch around the room but you had to be silent or you were out. Also, drop it and you were out.
Loved it as a kid, and now I see their true genius.

Solitaire. Lots of reading books. Video games. Rainy days were simultaneously a drag and a source of comfort at the same time. It made you change up the pace. I wish someone could force this stupid phone out of my hands because the pace with this damn thing is the same every day, rain or shine.

Man, Heads Up Seven Up brings back some serious nostalgia vibes!
