How are you guys dealing with aging? Have you tried any treatments? Or are you just fine aging naturally?

As for my self, I’d say after 40 is really when I started to see noticeable changes in my skin. A few wrinkles popped up. One kinda deep crease in the center of my forehead. I did get Botox treatment one time about 2 years ago. But I didn’t see the results I wanted and it fades so fast anyway. So now I’m pretty sure I’m just going to try to age gracefully and naturally and not give a shit that I’m aging. What do you guys think/feel about it?
elegantlywasted1983@reddit
Oh I absolutely get Botox to hide my resting bitch face and disdain for opposing counsel 🫶
InterestingTry5190@reddit
I do as well. I get light treatment
HoneyBadger302@reddit
Hair color and HRT are about it for me, and the color is really the only vanity thing, the HRT is simply being able to function and live my life.
NetworkNo1900@reddit
Botox, laser, peels! And maybe some Threading next year
CuriousLands@reddit
I didn't care about my greys, got about bothered by the few wrinkles that started showing up, it I'm starting to get presbyopia and might need bifocals in the not-too-distant future, and that made feel like some old woman 😅😭
InternationalRow1653@reddit
These kids look older than me these days, I think the water fountains may have different water than what ours had. I feel like I look younger lately but I've never looked my age.
big_ringer@reddit
It sucks not being able to enjoy the foods I did as a kid, but and there's this nagging pain in my back that I really need to see a chiropractor for. It's forced me to have to take care of my body a lot more, now. I'm going to the gym more often and watch what I eat. But it's starting to yield positive results.
LiteratureVarious643@reddit
I had some spider veins and cherry angioma zapped off my face. I look so refreshed, and I feel a ton better. Who knew?!?
TheGrapeSlushies@reddit
I hate those cherry angiomas. I need to get a few zapped myself.
YayVacation@reddit
Wear a wide brimmed hat always while out in the yard. Tinted SPF as my daily foundation. Definitely not fine aging naturally. Just had a lower face and neck lift to address neckline and early jowling. Not much skin had to be removed but the neck lift alone doesn’t really cut it for most over 40. I personally think if you can afford it to not wait until your 50-60s for a facelift if you know you will have it one day. It’s not as a dramatic change, which I prefer, in your 40s and supposedly a bit preventative.
TheGrapeSlushies@reddit
Do you love your lower face & neck lift?? I don’t need one just yet but I’ve been planning to get work done for years. I agree, get it done in your 40s and look younger while you’re still relatively young. You’ll still look great as you age.
Typeintomygoodear@reddit
I saw an article on Yahoo today about the latest anti aging trend online, PDRN serum…never heard of it so I went to Google. It’s trout sperm. Meh I’ll go naturally I guess.
TheGrapeSlushies@reddit
Yuck. And I thought the snail slime was gross.
rosujin@reddit
Working out and eating right.
My hair was always extremely short (nearly completely shaved), but now my hairline is receding. I thought about doing that hair pigment thing where they tattoo these dots on your head to make it look like you have hair but happened to shave your head.
But I saw one of my dad’s friends recently (in his 70s) who had dyed his hair jet black for years. He now has almost no hair so he literally had the bald spots on his head painted black and also some weird black paint on his face to make his mustache look bigger. He looks like an actual clown. I figured there is a slippery slope that leads to looking like a clown one day, so I decided not to do the hair thing.
TheGrapeSlushies@reddit
Micropigmentation tattoos are so cool! The results are getting really good these days. If I was a man I would absolutely get it.

CrouchingDomo@reddit
By the time I’m 60 I’m gonna look like everyone’s art teacher from middle school ☺️
LacyKnits@reddit
Me too. Yesterday my husband (kindly) informed me that my very conservative office might find my outfit to be a bit too "art teacher" for their tastes.
I really didn't see anything wrong with ankle length/cropped corduroys, Birkenstock clogs, colorful socks clearly visible between the two, and a patterned cardigan sweater with a colorful button down under it.
I compromised - white shirt and no socks. He chuckled, and nobody at work said anything to the cranky middle-age engineer about her questionable fashion sense.
TheGrapeSlushies@reddit
I’m conservative, your fashion sounds cool to me. People don’t wear enough colors.
veiled-nomore99@reddit
I am 45 and was asked if I was an art teacher by our waiter when out to dinner with my husband a few weeks ago. I was wearing chunky eyeglass frames, froot loop earrings, and a colorful cardigan. Hahaha. Nope, just a stay at home homeschooling mom who is embracing the things that make me happy. Gave me a great chuckle, though, because one reason I wanted to be an elementary school teacher when I was younger was for an excuse to wear all the funky sweaters and vests my teachers would wear. Didn’t go for the teaching degree, but got around to wearing the “cool attire” eventually. Lol.

I never had kids, have a fabulous haircut in a very non-invisible color, don’t wear trainers, and I promise you, the invisibility cloak is still real at 45 and you are not alone.
I love the aging gracefully situation though. There’s a lot of much older women with loads of plastic surgery in my area and it doesn’t age well at all. It’s very uncanny valley honestly.

I turned transparent at age 44… almost like a switch happened. One day I was in bold print & color and then the next I faded into a tepid sepia and seemingly a couple months later… completely see-through.

My wife and I are just going to age naturally. She’s always worn sunscreen her whole adult life though so her skin is looking good. We finally got married last year after almost 20 years and now we are ready to lovingly age together to the end. We’re prepared to get fat, wrinkly, saggy, and grey. We both have family histories for life into our 90s at least. No sense pretending to be 25 for the next 50 years.

Same - in using prescription retinol. It's partial to combat the wrinkles and to combat the acne that never went away.

Cameron Diaz had a great quote "I'd rather see my face aging than a face that doesn't belong to me"
And I feel that one. I've got greying, a bald spot, forehead wrinkles and some crow's feet have developed. I COULD fight it, but the expense and in a weird way, covering it up just draws more attention to it? like my friends know how old I am.
mountainskylove@reddit
Yes yes yes! Couldn’t agree more!
chinacatsf@reddit
Agree with this for me. I don’t knock anyone who wants to do procedures and these days, done well, it can look wonderful. But I’ve fully embraced my emerging crone era and was totally stoked to get a witches stripe in my hair. I find a good skin moisturizer and a cleanser are great. Also I stumbled on Jones Road beauty (thank you targeted Insta ads) and that makeup is just perfect, not too heavy, doesn’t settle into lines, but makes me look even and glowy. That’s my whole routine…
Responsible-Card3756@reddit
Yes! I embraced my grey hair after getting annoyed with how $$$, damaging & tedious dying is…I’ve set a positive example for my girlfriends who are now doing the same.

Morriganx3@reddit
I am just waiting for my hair to go gray so I can dye it pink. It’s too dark and has too much orange undertone to get a good pink without bleaching platinum first, and I don’t have the patience for all the upkeep chronically bleached hair requires.
Once I have enough gray, though, I’m going pink again and never going back.

Jonestown_Juice@reddit
Yeah I should have mentioned that too. Never smoked, never did any drugs, only have a glass of wine at special occasions.
Nomadzord@reddit
I drink too much three or four days per week, have had a lot of issues with drugs in the past, smoked cigarettes until 34 and still look pretty good. That said, I stay away from the sun at all costs and drink at least a gallon or two of water everyday. I think those last two things are super important.
faultyratiocination@reddit
Say word. Constantly getting mistaken for like 10 years or so younger than I actually am and I’ve definitely lived…hard at times, but a combo of genetics, hydration, exercise, and not being out in the sun constantly has kept me relatively unscathed. Sadly, I can’t say the same about my hair. 😂

CrotalusHorridus@reddit
Flip side
I’ve noticed people that were chubby their whole life, who suddenly lost a ton with ozempic skin r whatever, look incredibly older
Morriganx3@reddit
I’ve lost significant weight this year - due to shedding some stress, not ozempic, but same result - and I actually started trying to slow it down so I don’t end up with droopy skin.
LacyKnits@reddit
Yes, it's (not so kindly) called ozempic face by the media. Rapid weight loss causes loss of the fat layer under the facial skin too. People end up looking sunken, and the skin that used to be stretched over the facial fat is now too big for the face that's left, so it sags and wrinkles a bit.
There's also a common challenge with getting enough nutrition when using those meds, so skin can look duller from that too.
For some people, it's totally worth it though - especially those who have (other) health issues being treated by the meds, and aren't using it purely for weight loss.
msheehan418@reddit
That’s the opposite problem I have. Like I said above, you have to choose. Your ass or your face.

I know people will disagree, but this day and age people doing manual labor jobs should be very well paid. No you may not be a genius running computer stuff, but you are literally sacrificing your body. I have seen so many people once they hit 40’s and 50’s that are seriously messed up now. This is why I got out of manual labor in my 20’s and started a commercial cleaning business.
Exercise is good for you, but brutal manual labor is not, especially if it’s a dangerous work environment.
And yes some manual labor jobs do pay decently.
NSA_Chatbot@reddit
Hey man, I've got a chair worth more than a mortgage payment and I've spent thousands of dollars on exercise and weights so my spine doesn't collapse from decades of computer.
Jonestown_Juice@reddit
...okay?
At no point did I denigrate people who do manual labor. I only pointed out that I avoided it. Not because it's beneath me but because I am lazy.
RoundTheBend6@reddit
I don't think they were digging at you. Just stating a tough reality for those who work manual labor.
My neighbor did concrete for 30 years. Back breaking work and breathing in the fine dust particles... dead in his 50s. Worst part is he has to fight for disability for 5 years. Almost lost his house. He finally was awarded it, but died two years later.
Snooch_Nooch@reddit
Holy shit, this. Between some deaths of friends and general reunions, I am seeing a lot of people I went to school with for the first time in 25ish years... Meanwhile, I've always been mistaken for way younger than my age. It was insulting when I was 16 but I'm fine with it now. My skin is still VERY oily, which wrinkles slower; but I was also way more fanatical about sunscreen than any of my friends.
I do use a retinol, but it's more for my acne/redness than my wrinkles!
That all said: ....I've been tempted to look up how much botox costs. I fucking hate the lines between my eyebrows.
bananabastard@reddit
I've been doing daily sunscreen and tretinoin for years now.
Last week, someone guessed my age at 35, I'm 43.
8 years younger is probably about the average of what people guess me as.
I've never had botox, it's just not for me. If I thought it would genuinely make me look younger, I might do it, but I don't think it would.
I do have quite prominent 11's, in fact I have 111's. But I don't dislike those.
I also have no gray hair yet, and I'm male and not balding either.
But aside from staying active and in shape, and keeping good skincare which I enjoy, I'm letting whatever happens, happen.

I have embraced my Crone Era. I am the wise woman who is happily married. I take care of myself, but I don't give a damn if I have crows feet and laugh lines. I have a kickass streak of gray hair near my face and a whole lot more sprinkled around. No way I'm dying those out, it's too cool.
I'm softer, grayer, and wrinklier but my husband thinks I'm hot and I appreciate the lack of attention I get from strange men now.
LiliWenFach@reddit
I asked my sister in law how she felt upon turning 40. Her reply: 'it doesn't bother me. Not everyone is lucky enough to grow old.'
On January 1st this year, aged 42, she was rushed to the hospital with a suspected blood clot and died there, despite attempts to resuscitate her.
It hurts so much that she's not here, and she should be. I think about her every day.
Before she died I had only ever experienced the loss of older adults. The sort of death where you feel it was sad, but they lived a long and full life, so it's not that much of a tragedy. Since the day we said goodbye to her I've realised how quickly life can be snatched away from us, at any age.
I honestly think the shock hastened my hair turning grey. My husband and surviving sister in law - we all started greying at the temples after the funeral. But I honestly don't care, because each sign of aging, each new line or streak is a sign of another year I survived the grim reaper's scythe. I sometimes get shocked when I see my mum's face looking at me out of the mirror - but a few forehead lines seem petty in comparison to the alternative.

I do sunscreen and some serums but the only “work” I get done is working on my self acceptance. It’s a lot of mental work! It gets harder every few years too, but I had a bunch of aunts and uncles die at the same time more changes showed up on my face, so… acceptance takes a lot of mental work.
NobodyOtherwise1904@reddit
I'm a trans female. I have admittedly had several cosmetic procedures, but more out of survival rather than vanity. As part of my transition, I am on a hormone replacement therapy regimen, which includes estrogen and progesterone, and will be for the rest of my life. This actually helps with the aging process. Thankfully, I think medical professionals are learning that this can beneficial to cisgender women as well. Also, I take one-and-half THC gummy every night. I'm not sure it helps with aging, but it certainly helps with stress and anxiety, which go hand-in-hand with aging.
MeatAndBourbon@reddit
Trans femme myself, just hit a year on E and just started prog. That shit has knocked 10 years off already!

I get botox on my frown line because my mum has the exact same one in the exact same place, it's really deep and it makes you look angry. She's not, she's a lovely person. I just don't want to look like that. I get it done once every 6 months (it should be every 3-4 but I'm cheap) and take zinc supplements to help make it last longer.
I don't use any fancy skincare (just supermarket basics), I'm enjoying my greys growing in, I'm happy with all my other wrinkles and sags and bags. I just don't want that one frown line.

I'm cool with it. Barely any greys in the beard. I'm black so lotion and moisturizer was always the norm growing up. I shaved my head long before I actually needed to so that wasn't hard to accept. Do I look young for my age? I don't think so. What does 45 even look like? Tbh I don't think I've changed too much facially in the last 20 years. But is that because I look young now or did I actually look old 20 years ago? Father time's undefeated. To me it's not the face I want to keep young, it's the body that I don't want to fall off. I'm actually still doing pretty ok there so no complaints yet...but I was blessed with lupus and ankylosing spondylitis so the wall's coming. 👴🏾

I try to embrace my age, but it's hard. The new Amazon commercial about the old ladies sledding made me cry.

I can see my face aging more during the last few years. Doing my best with sunscreen, water and regular exercise, and trying to minimize stress.

I spent a few thousand on Sculptra. It’s a bio stimulator that helps you produce more collagen in your face so areas like cheeks, temples, eye hollows, nasiolabial folds, and smoothes out your jaw line helping with jowls. It also improves the texture of your skin. Since it’s your own collagen, you don’t get that pillow face look. Maintenance is only 1 vial per year. It was formulated as a treatment to help AIDS patients with facial fat loss.
I’m 44 so I did this before my face has drastically aged. People still think my 22 year old daughter is my sister and now that she’s older a few people have referred to her as my wife which was jarring. I haven’t seen the full results because it takes 3-4 months and my last treatment was in October but I’ve already noticed improvement.

BoredPandemicPanda@reddit
Pretty positive. Just make sure you don't fall into any of the side effects buckets. Finasteride might cause ED, Minoxidil, I think might mess with your blood pressure. But if you don't react from any of those, the only real fear is stopping because then, your new hair will fall out and not come back.

Botox, diligent skincare (retinoids and vitamin c!), sunscreen, and a little filler (I’m a hollower, not a sagger). Also got a boob lift because they looked like deflated balloons after losing a bit of weight. I’ll probably get a facelift eventually. Only have a few gray hairs, but I color them. I also started using rogaine and got extensions for volume because I feel like my hair has gotten thinner after 40.
To each their own though. Other than good skincare and sunscreen, I wouldn’t recommend any particular intervention unless something bothers you. If that’s the case, then see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to see what they suggest.

I'm aging naturally. Like you, I tried botox once and didn't really get the results I would have wanted for the price point -- especially on my forehead. So I'm unlikely to go back to it.

HeyYouTurd@reddit (OP)
I still feel pretty young for my age too. I didn’t even have kids until I was 32. I don't feel like I have a lot of visible signs of aging yet due to a life of being an indoor gremlin + sunscreen + oily skin + genetics, other than maybe 4 grey hairs. I'm planning to age gracefully once it starts happening, though I've considered Botox for tension headache and maybe to improve my jawline.
I have, however, entered "female" (I'm nonbinary but anyone looking at me would assume female) invisibility and the feeling of freedom and power is amazing. The hair loss thing is the only aging that I have contemplated doing anything about. My hairline is still fairly robust, but there is thinning that I’m sure will only get worse over time. I personally don’t have any problem with shaving my head and going bald once it really starts receding, but when I shaved my head during Covid my wife absolutely hated it. She would rather I rock the fringe look then shave my head again, and I don’t have any interest in that. At the same time, if any sort of hair loss medication has noticeable side effects or would cost me a significant amount out-of-pocket, I definitely don’t care enough to do anything about it. But I will likely ask my doctor at my yearly appointment this time to at least find out what my options are.
NotanotherRealtor@reddit
I have a whole skin routine for the past 15 years+. The routine has been more consistent for the last 15 yrs. Before that I wouldn’t be as consistent, yet still did things.
Wash, exfoliate, mask, at least once a week. Mostly though it is all the toner, serum, eye cream (so important), and moisturizing that has helped me look at least 10 years younger.
Also, not having kids or a physical job have helped. I often get told I look mid to late 30s
Astrazigniferi@reddit
Which eye cream do you use? I’ve never been sure how they’re different from my usual lotion.
NotanotherRealtor@reddit
I honestly don’t know. My husband is in cosmetology and handles the skin care stuff for us. I notice a difference using eye cream because I have less lines around my eyes. Whereas my straight friends, who don’t use eye cream, have all kinds of lines.

I'm 45, I don't mind most wrinkles so much but I hate the "11" lines I'm getting between my eyebrows because they make me look angry when I'm not.
I got Botox a few times a few years ago, and I loved the results, but I also could see some mild discoloration around the injection sites that took a long time to fade. I also have a lot of health anxiety, and I started getting paranoid about the potential for side effects, even though its regarded as generally very safe.
So now I'm thinking of trying Frownies or some other type of night time patch for the frown lines.

I used to work at a pharmacy, and when I was in my 20s one of my coworkers told me that her aunt said “when you start using anti-aging products, your skin gets used to them. So you have to keep using them forever.” I don’t even remember the girl’s name, but I’ll never forget that advice.
I still look like I’m younger than 40. At my last job the 20 something’s all thought I was in my late 20’s.

Ugh. Just diferen gel (otc retinol) on my tummy stretch marks (the babies were worth it, just barely though, jk) and on my face and neck twice a week not during the summertime. But I also sometimes have acne still.
I tried temporary dye for my hair and it smelled so bad and I felt like it didn’t do anything so I’m just living with having a scattering of white hair in my almost black hair. Maybe I’ll try sun in in the summer to lighten up the rest of my hair?
I had always lathered myself in lotion though because I had eczema and sensitive skin.
I don’t drink much (holidays and birthdays mostly). I don’t smoke. I usually wear sunblock though I have lots of natural melanin. I have an inside desk job.
My real worry is my blood pressure became and issue after my last pregnancy and I need to start exercising to manage that but I have a two year old and other kids and a dog and I haven’t found time for exercise other than walking the dog.
My mom wants me to sleep more. But I think I’m just slightly low on sleep needs. I am probably wrong. There have been very few times when my mom was actually wrong. I probably do need more sleep.

I’m a man, so that helps. Not going bald at all, so that helps. Only a little streak of grey in the middle.
All that said it sucks to get out of shape so easily, and everything hurts all the time.

I'm fortunate to have a babyface and decent skin, so I've not seen a lot of aging yet. Then again, in my mid-thirties I was still being consistently carded anytime I bought alcohol (one would think being 6'0" and 220 would help, but it didn't). When I finally grew my beard, I stopped getting carded overnight. I have a few gray hairs now in the beard, which I tend to pluck, but I figure I'll embrace them before long. Either way, people who don't know me are generally stunned to find out I'm 45. My boss who's 10 years younger than me thought he was older than me. My direct report who's 5 years younger also thought he was older than me. Guess I'm lucky.
It's helped that I've lost a bunch of weight over the last few years. Maybe up until 3 years ago I was hovering at 250, and dropped 30 pounds over the span of 6 months making some dietary changes (basically dropping my obscene soda habit and cutting drastically back on my beer intake). I'm back to the same waist size I was in college, which is fucking wild. Still could stand to lose another 30, but I guess I rock the dad bod okay, and losing that weight took age off of my appearance too.
The way I dress probably helps make me look younger. Jeans and tshirts, hoodies, a hat more often than not. I work from home so I don't have to follow a dress code, and I like to be comfortable. I tend to wear a headset to jam out while working, so no sense in doing my hair only to mess it up.

I’m hating it so much. I’ve only recently started to feel “old”. Probably since both of my parents died around the same time. But im really having a hard time with this.

I am fighting against it all. Botox 3x/year, hair colored every 4 weeks, sunscreen daily face moisturizer, HA acid serum, retinol night cream, 3x/week tretinoin (retinoid on acid). Tbh, it all works and when I tell people my age, bc they clock me on the things and references I talk about, they're shocked.
No fillers whatsoever. For over a decade I've been disgusted by over-puffed faces and lips. And the HA fillers stay in your face despite what they say about being able to dissolve them. And then your skin is stretched out, and it all goes to shit. No shade to anyone using filler, that's just how I feel about it.

I think the idea of “aging gracefully” is silly. Am I alive? Do I have a reasonably good quality of life regarding my health, mental and physical? That’s graceful enough for me. Hawaii here. I always wore lotion growing up. I look ten years younger than my friends who didnt and were all the same age or they are a few years younger. You basically get an extra ten years of looking good versus looking rough and old.

I take collagen daily which I started when recovering from an injury, not for any supposed anti-aging benefits. However, I do feel like I’ve seen some mild improvement of elasticity in my face. I also always wear sunscreen and sometimes a hat or visor when I run. That combined with creatine - which I take for endurance performance and recovery benefits - makes me feel like I tolerate a higher training load better at almost-43 than I did at 33.
I have a lot of white hairs showing through this year. They don’t bother me, so far they look like highlights. I’m not gonna bother trying to cover them up, my hair goes through enough abuse my high activity level.

CrabbyCatLady41@reddit
I'm not doing anything "anti-aging." I don't even color my hair, and I'm probably about 30% gray or more. But I put lotion over my entire self after every shower, moisturize my face every time I wash it, and take good care of my teeth. That seems to be enough to keep my face looking young, even if my hair gives it away. I am considering doing something about the turkey neck that's emerging after losing some weight this year, just some kind of anti-crepe cream. So I'd say that like you, I don't give a shit. I'm going to be 45 by the end of the month, and I look like I'm in my 40s, and that's OK.
I have recently gotten back into going to the gym, and I'm focusing 75% or more of my effort on strength training. Like lifting the heaviest weights that I can pick up. My primary concern is not LOOKING younger, but aging in a way that keeps me out of the nursing home, no hip fractures, that kind of thing. I rarely drink anymore (and I'm a lightweight when I do!), quit smoking, very rarely eat junk food.
thenewblueblood@reddit
Turning 44 in a few weeks, I’m fine aging naturally. The only thing I use is some hair thickening shampoo because that’s inevitable.
Besides that I exercise 3-4x per week, attend therapy weekly, and adjust my diet based on my target weight that I mostly stay within (165-170). I started doing most of this stuff during Covid and it’s gotten me into the best shape of my life, I’m riding being able to pass for 37-38 for as long as I can lol.
I’m also undergoing immunotherapy for skin cancer (thankfully the not as bad kind with minimal therapy side effects) so there’s that. But at each dr visit they compliment that I look very healthy and am taking to the treatment well…so all in all good things!
I’m a single parent with a special needs 6y/o kiddo half the time, so it’s really really important that I take care of myself to give him the life he needs also 😀

I know people think we're delusional about saying we look young but I'm 41 and people don't believe me. They think I'm in my early 30s, someone thought 26 recently. I have chubby cheeks, no wrinkles and I think its the humidity that helps with that. I wear daily sunscreen now but I do have one sunspot on my face but I'm going to the dermatologist next week and I'll see what to do about that. I have never smoked, not a big drinker. I have kids but I think that keeps you active too.

Sunscreen and hydration. People act politely surprised when I tell them I’m 43. But it’s not like I’m not aging I just don’t lean into it. I'm 47 and just noticed some fine lines at the corners of my mouth a few weeks ago - my first clear sign of aging other than gray hair. I'd also already noticed that my skin isn't as "glowy" as it used to be. I have always sort of neglected my skincare other than basic moisturization and some sunblock, but seeing those lines around my mouth made me decide that I need to step up my game just a little bit! Nothing extreme - I'm mostly just replacing my old, basic products with higher quality ones designed for more mature skin. The only new things I'm doing are:
As far as gray hair goes, I have dark hair with lots of silvery threads and kind of like it that way! I grew it out a few years ago and a hair dresser called it "hair glitter," which made me smile. But I then went back to dying my hair funky colors for a while. I actually just dyed it back to a color close to my natural shade and have tentative plans to grow out the gray again.
I hope to age mostly naturally. Sure, I'll use creams or other home treatments, but I don't think I'll be that worried about looking "young." But... I admit that I'm in the early stages of this aging business and have no clue how I'll actually react when things start changing more dramatically! We don't have the kind of money needed for plastic surgery, but who knows if I'll end up in one of those clinical "spas" for some kind of fancy skin treatment? I'd rather not spend that much time and money on it, but I also want to feel good about myself. I imagine it's a balancing act.
Torchness9@reddit
I’m aging naturally. I’m a redhead who wears sunscreen. I’m 43 and while I don’t look, say; 33, I probably look a few years younger. Or maybe I don’t! I don’t care. Why does it matter? People who get plastic surgery just look like people who get plastic surgery.
Omgkimwtf@reddit
I'm letting it happen.
Granted, I have genetics in my favor, as well as a genetic disease that contributes to me looking younger than I am, and I stay out of the sun. Still, I try to eat well more often than not, I've never smoked, I hit the gym somewhat regularly, and my excessive drinking days are long behind me. I also take good care of my skin.
Basically, the only indications that I'm aging are how much darker my undereye circles have gotten and the increase in silver hairs. If I dyed my hair and wore concealer? Who knows how young I could go. I just turned 40, but twice over the summer older women assumed I was 28 (and that was without hair dye or any makeup on).
I think trying to fight it might end up making me look aged more than accepting it, so I'm just going with the flow of time.
AlwaysSleepingBeauty@reddit
My dad had melanoma when he died so if I’m outside for longer than it takes to walk to a vehicle from a building I’m putting on sunscreen. Other than that I just wash my face. My mom is 60 and looks amazing so I feel like I’m ok based on genetics alone.

I'm about to turn 45 in a few months and suddenly felt like I was starting to look it, though I think it's a little bit of a mental freak out about my actual age. While I love the sun, I've always been good about moisturizing (since I was a kid) and sunscreen. Drink tons of water, exercise regularly. I recently upped my skincare game -- regular moisturizer, eye cream, neck and chest cream, face mask ever 2 months or so -- and added a collagen supplement. Do I look different? Probably not. But I feel better.
Have zero interest in any sort of botox or more serious medical treatments. Went through cancer treatment within the last two years and I'm not looking to put myself into any more doctors offices unless it's for good reason.

Doing some of the basics - I dye my hair and use moisturizer but no botox/injectables for me - I rather have wrinkles than look plastic (luckily right now you can only see wrinkles if I smile so I look young by brooding) - but ask me again in ten years I may be singing a different tune.

My hair is going white at the temples in very dramatic streaks, which I like. I may dye them purple or teal for fun, but I won’t dye them to hide them.
The only age-specific thing I’ve done is added tretinoin to my skincare routine. I asked my dermatologist for recommendations for fine lines at a routine skin check and she wrote me a prescription for it. The prescription stuff is less than $20 with insurance vs the lower-concentration stuff my friends were buying from the makeup counter for more than $80. I have relatively good skin even without it, but my fine lines and crows feet have indeed faded since I started using it.

Don’t smoke. Wear sunscreen. Rarely drink. Exercise regularly and eat mostly healthy with limited junk. One plus to having older kids (specifically once they hit driving age) is that you suddenly have WAY more free time. The hair went predominantly gray and the light wrinkles turned into heavy wrinkles. I’ve also let my hair get longer after sporting the same ‘do for the past 30 years, which only makes the gray more prominent. At least I have a full head of thick hair though!

I'm did get hair transplants. Wife talked me into it... but apart from that.... hell no.

fermentedradical@reddit
Oral minoxidil for hair, LASEK (soon) for eyes, cutting carbs + sweets to drop 40lbs and exercise to tone up.
Feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good as I decline gradually.
FluffySpell@reddit
I've used SPF religiously for at least the past decade+. I move my body regularly and try and eat fairly decently, making sure I focus on protein and fiber. When I do strength training I try and go heavy (when I'm not in a marathon training cycle) to help prevent osteopenia and beyond.
I don't get botox or fillers (that's my choice, if someone else wants to get them there's not a thing wrong with that). The only supplements I do are a multivitamin, calcium/vitamin D, collagen and creatine. The collagen and creatine go in my morning coffee.
The way I look at it, aging is a privilege that some people don't get. So I'm just going to try and take care of myself as best I can and appreciate every birthday I'm still here to celebrate. I welcome every sign of a life well lived.
Except these gray hairs. I will color over those until the day I die 😂
TexturedTeflon@reddit
Ditto, except for the marathon and having hair on your head part.

You didn't get the results you wanted from one Botox treatment then stopped?! You probably needed more units. Botox for the win!
MyNameIsNot_Molly@reddit
Thank you for admitting this! We have seen so much terrible cosmetic intervention in recent years, it is often looked down upon on Reddit, but considering that 42% of women in the US have tried Botox, I thought I would see a few more people admitting it here. I've had a few cosmetic treatments and they make me feel better about myself. I never had any lips and when I could finally afford some modest filler in my '30s, I finally got to experience what it was like to put on red lipstick and feel sexy.
caryn1477@reddit
I have absolutely nothing against cosmetic intervention. I just I wish I had more money to afford it more easily! I think it's frowned upon because it's only really noticeable if it's overdone and looks terrible. And so that's what people focus on, people who try too hard and look obviously overdone.
I actually have an appointment for a consultation for a lower blepharoplasty next month. I'm tired of looking tired and having bags under my eyes and now that I can afford it a little bit more easily I might as well enjoy it while I'm not yet a senior citizen

I was used to looking young for my age. In the last two years I’ve lost 116 pounds. Whole new face last time I was this weight I was in my thirties now I’m in my forties. I have a wattle and some wrinkles and I’ve gotten senior discounts. Which is normally 55 when they give those out. I also have arthritis and use mobility aides so it might be that too. I’ve gotten used to it and am just aging as it comes.
PlaidChairStyle@reddit
I’m struggling more with my weight than wrinkles. I developed a chronic illness a few years ago and am now unable to exercise. Also, happily, I found a medication that lessens the severity of my symptoms, but weight gain is a side effect.
I was tall and slender most of my life, but now I’m tall and fat. I am really struggling with that.
proper_specialist88@reddit
Lost my service industry job during Covid and realized it was keeping me in shape. I actually had trouble gaining weight until my late 30s. Over the last 5 years, I've gotten married, am now a father, and now 40 lbs heavier. We're just now past the survival mode part of parenting an infant and I'm trying to get my health back on track. Down 20 lbs so far just by cutting out added sugars, pasta, and bread. Just starting to get an exercise routine going. Crazy how much your diet affects everything. Our generation was raised on Cokes, Tang, and candy bars, so I've never regulated what goes into my body.
Otherwise, bald and gray. Lol. My Asian genes help a lot with the skin side of things. I also play a metric shit ton of pool at home and that keeps me from sitting on my ass in the evenings.
If you're just talking about skincare aging and the superficial stuff, fuck it. Who cares? All these Botox and injection faces on social media and TV these days look disgusting. Don't do it. My wife has been watching The Golden Bachelor recently and it's just sad what some of these women in their 60s are doing to themselves to hold onto their youth.
1upjohn@reddit
I avoid sunlight, drinking, smoking, and drugs. I don't have kids. So a lot of things that age you, thankfully, do not apply to me. I have no wrinkles that I can see. I have some gray hairs but I've had those since my 30s. My whole body aches when I sneeze. I also can't lift heavy things without my back hurting. I can't hold my urine now. Can't see a movie in the theater longer than 2 hours because of that. Those are the things I noticed.
msheehan418@reddit
Trying to do it gracefully but it’s hard. My focus is what I can control and that’s my body. I can workout and have the figure of a 20 year old
The face, not so much. I have wrinkles. Botox makes me look weird. Makeup ages me. So I just try to keep good hair and good body and hope it makes up for the face.

I'm aging naturally and gracefully, although I have stepped up in some key areas of my appearance. My hair is getting salt and pepper now which my wife likes, she says I look more distinguished. I'm back at the gym but just 3 days of "staying active" more than hitting the weights like in my 20's, although my wife wouldn't mind if I got back to my 20's bod.
I am in a professional field so I spend money on nice attire. I don't dress like a teenager but it's a mix of traditional and newer styles. Picked up jogging too for heart health along with deciding to eat much cleaner.

I mean, I agree that after 40 is when I started soon wrinkles and lines and I don't love it. I just try to do better with my skincare and use more actives like peptide serum and niacinamide. I'm not the type to go all out with plastic surgery on my face. I might try some Botox eventually but not now.

I was accused of voter fraud (jokingly) because the poll worker didn’t believe I was almost 50. I chalk it up to amazing genes from my moms (and her mom) combined with no kids. I do try to moisturize regularly to keep from having old man hands.

I don’t judge anyone who ages gracefully without any treatments. I don’t judge anyone who gets more treatments than me. I really feel like we should all do what we want.
I do worry that people who get overtreatments (overfilled lips or pillow faces) have body dysmorphia. But that’s different.

Sunscreen, retinol, good moisturizers, and Frownies for the deeper creases in my forehead. I’m not trying to look 25 or even 30 forever but I do want to age well
username11585@reddit
I am aging naturally, seeing the creases come in. I don’t mind showing that I’m getting older when I’m getting older. My girlfriends started getting Botox in their late 20s and early 30s and now I’m one of the only ones in the group with a forehead that wrinkles and it’s kinda funny cause we’re all the same age. The older we get it’s more noticeable it is that they’re getting work done.
I don’t care that they do it cause they do look great and it makes them feel good about themselves. I can’t say if I’ll ever change my mind as I get even older, but so far I’m happy to visibly show that I’ve lived a decent amount of life now.

I have started using prescription tretinoin. I think my skin looks better when I’m well rested and well hydrated, but when those things are not true I don’t get an obvious benefit.
I’m also more dedicated than ever to sticking with a fitness program. My mom fell off a bike when she was in her 40s and even though she didn’t break anything she was so shaken up she never exercised again. I think that is a factor in some of the health issues she has now. So I’m dedicating myself to getting back up again when I fall down for as long as my body allows it.
tacitjane@reddit
I'm cool with it. Just started with the horizontal forehead wrinkles when I raise my eyebrows. Those the ones you're taking about? Definitely have that eleven between my brows.
I've got more gray than my momma. I think it looks kinda cool. Like tinsel in a Christmas tree. I use a clear glaze once a month to combat their wirey tendencies.
I rarely wear makeup at work. It's not necessary for what I do. I'm more worried about being injured than looking pretty. I've seen a lot more ladies in my department go this route lately.
Renzieface@reddit
I take really good care of my skin (a consistent skincare routine + sunscreen every day, no exceptions!), and I've gotten a few broadband laser treatments to address some of the delayed damage from my sunbathing and smoking years. That said, I've earned my face. I'll wear it.
Pheeline@reddit
I try to take care of my skin, but in a pretty basic way. Wash my face, use moisturizer, wear sunscreen (though really, I don't like spending a lot of time out in the sun anyway, it gives me a headache and makes me sleepy). I'm overall not too bothered by aging. No plans to get anything like botox or plastic surgery for vanity's sake. That said, even with the mention of vanity, if someone else wants to do that for themselves and it makes them happy, it's their body and they can dress/tweak it as they see fit, as long as they don't judge others for not doing the same.
I wear what I like, which generally tends to involve bright colors even though everything in media wants to scream at me to wear dark colors and "vertical patterns" in order to make my rather rotund body look at least slightly less rotund, or better yet, make me blend into the background so that my existence while fat doesn't offend anyone. To hell with that, I like colorful things. I can still walk a few miles when needed, I can go up and down stairs carrying things without a problem, so hey. I know I'm stronger than I look.
On occasion I'll dye my hair, generally an "unnatural" color, just because I like the color, not to cover up the grey. In fact, I wish my hair would go grey more quickly because that'll eliminate the need to lighten my hair before dyeing it. My spouse has that whole "going grey at the temples" thing going on and I admit, I'm a little envious of him for it. :D

Looking younger doesn’t matter to me. I don’t have shame about being the age that I am, or being in the stage of life I’m in. I try to embrace life as it is, it’s just better for me mentally. What I do want to focus on is how to reduce the physical aches and pains and stay as mobil as possible so I can continue to be independent and active as long as I can. Intermittent fasting and general nutrition, lots of protein, fruits and veg. I don’t follow a strict diet but I do try to stay away from added sugar and fast food.
The doctor that does my Botox and laser treatments told me that everyone always thinks that wrinkles are the definitive sign of aging, but everyone always sleeps on the real culprit, which is your neck and jawline. You can have the smoothest forehead in the world but if you have a turkey neck and a double chin it will make you look older and frumpier no matter what you do. I like the wrinkles around my eyes and the gray hairs in my beard. They suit me. I’m not doing anything to change beyond just moisturizing. I want to look like an older version of me.
But I am as active now as I’ve ever been in terms of exercise. I’ll keep doing that as long as I can. I have several hobbies to keep my mind engaged (less TV now than in my 20s or 30s).
LemonSkye@reddit
Between my avoidance of the hateful daystar and my genetics I'm not particularly worried. I moisturize and that's about it. My hair started going grey this year, but it looks more like highlights right now than anything.

I just ignore it. Who cares honestly. Im a guy so all age does is make me look distinguished.
breathingmirror@reddit
I use retinol and exercise. Won't be doing hormones or botox.
Whis65@reddit
Botox, Facials, Chemical Peels, Laser. That is what I have done since I was 40. I am 60 now, and look pretty good. Lots of sunscreen, vit c and retina.
Lou_Skunnt69@reddit
I’m fine with the wrinkles on my forehead. That said, if I ever had to re-enter the dating pool, I’d probably think about some touch-ups.
harlembornnbred@reddit
Aging was never a big deal to me. I feel like I look my age, especially with the amount of gray hair in my beard but everyone is still shocked when I say I'm 45 so who knows.
It's true to a degree that black don't crack I guess 🤷🏿
ShillinTheVillain@reddit
I'm just trying to take care of myself. Eating healthy, staying active, cut the booze, etc.
I feel very blessed to be healthy and feeling young at 41. I'm the old guy on my rec league sports teams now but at least I'm out there.
sarindong@reddit
Glucosamine is huge. Everyone 40+ should take it, it's amazing on joints. Mine feel completely fine on it and I'm an extra large size human
snn1326j@reddit
I’m south Asian with med dark skin so my wrinkles are pretty minimal (I’ve also used high PPD sunscreen since my early 20s which helps a lot). I get Botox a few times a year, chemical peels, and recently Sculptra in my temples which has helped with sagging a little. But a face lift is the gold standard for that and I’ll probably do that at some point after 50.
Mountain-Fox-2123@reddit
I just age naturally.
YearofTheStallionpt1@reddit
I am certainly letting my hair age. I don’t have time to compete with the gray hair. I let it take over. But I do take care of the gray, by using the proper shampoos and stuff but otherwise I am not dying it. I see my gray hair as my heritage. My grandfather’s hair was completely gray by the time he was 21.
As for my skin…I am almost 50 and still occasionally get acne. So who knows what will happen when the wrinkles show up. I just use lots of sunscreen. And I forgot to have kids so that is a big help when it comes to being less stressed, which can cause wrinkles, I guess.
Azuras_Star8@reddit
I exercise. I try to eat right. I wear a sun hat, swim shirts and sunscreen. I brush and floss. I try to not drink often.
I'm keeping this meat robot of a body as good as I keep my car. It may be old, but it can be pretty.
Brilliant_Addendum56@reddit
The things that bother me most as a guy are the "sun spots" on my face and hands and the knee pain from running. Im getting ready to head to the gym now actually and run a couple miles on the treadmill but I know I'll be feeling it tonight and tomorrow.
cowboybluebird@reddit
A good dermatologist can laser those off in a one time nearly painless treatment. I had them too and hated them. $600 later they’re gone forever.
ArtisanalMoonlight@reddit
I'm focusing on water, nutrition, sunscreen, exercise (especially strength training) skin care regimen, sleep.
At most I might consider laser hair removal for the dammed chin hairs that keep popping up. 🙄
iknowiknowwhereiam@reddit
If I had the money I would get some sort of a peel but that's about it
seamonkey420@reddit
🤷 not worrying too much about it. yea hairs starting to thin a bit, more sun spots and wrinkles. again 🤷, i embrace it, not fighting it.
plus our gen looks the youngest of the last four gens (thx mom for all that sunblock!)

I’m aging gracefully. I do use moisturizer. That’s about it.
tulips_onthe_summit@reddit
Aging is a privilege, and I am celebrating it! No treatments or procedures, I don't even die my hair or use makeup. However, I am doubling down on managing my diet, exercise, and stress.
dreamsonashelf@reddit
I remember to use moisturiser a bit more often than I used to.
I stopped dyeing my hair before the greys started multiplying faster, so that I don't fall into the "drama" of regular touch ups every time grey roots show up, when/if that time comes.
I pay more attention to oral hygiene.
IlIl0lIlI@reddit
For skin I (46m) use a facial moisturizer with SPF30 most days, and sunscreen with heavier stuff when spending a day outside. I try to wear long sleeves and a hat when out in the sun as well. This has kept my skin youthful enough I feel comfortable.
For my aging athleticism, I'm starting to incorporate more things. I retired earlier this year and improving my fitness is on of my after retirement goals. Before I retired, I mostly just jogged 3-5 miles a few times a week with some bodyweight exercises here and there. After retirement I added jujitsu 3 /week, then a couple months later added CrossFit 3 / week, and recently added 1 powerlifting / week.
As I've added these activities I've started adding additional supplements to help recover. I already had a very balanced and clean diet, but I added whey protein to help grow muscle, creatine to help with recovery, and collegine with vitamin C and omega-3 for joint health. The creatine had a noticeable effect on my recovery times.
I have struggled with low testosterone for many years and plan to add testosterone replacement therapy in a few months.

40 hit hard. Joints and sores last longer. Iv been hard on my body with my work so I feel it but I still feel compared to people I know with desk jobs I'm in alot better shape than them.

Just rolling with it. My hair is going grey and I'm gonna leave it as is. I wear sunscreen, stay very active, and eat well. I think I look good for a mid 40s guy
eggs_erroneous@reddit
Nah. I'm just rolling with it. For the people who were always super attractive, I totally understand wanting to hang on to that. It would become part of your identity and you'd definitely want to maintain it. That was never an issue for me so fuck it. I'm also kind of enjoying being able to wear older-people clothes. They are all about comfort and I can definitely dig that.

Trying to watch what I eat, right now I am trying not to eat my first meal until Noon , then have a small afternoon snack, then dinner - and until it gets to cold out I am walking for 20 minutes after dinner. I'm sure once the big freeze hits , I'll be back indoors throwing my kettlebell around at least 3 times a week.
TheConcreteGhost@reddit
No sun bathing, I take marine collagen pills and weekly copper peptide injections. I keep my face and neck moisturized with hyaluronic acid serum. Most folks guess 10 years less than my actual age.
jachildress25@reddit
I’m aging, but still feel very good about how I look. I spend a lot of time in the sun and have bad knees from playing sports for decades, but I wear sunscreen and don’t regret staying active at all. I’m 43.
I’m not going to look like I’m 25 so I’m not going to try any cosmetic procedures to try because it seems to be addictive and a net negative over time. If I didn’t have a wife and children, maybe I would feel differently. Or if I was a woman, who seem to be held to higher beauty standards than men.
home_rechre@reddit
I am balding and carrying too much weight in the midsection but I avoided problems by marrying a 10/10 25-year-old when I was 35 😂
ketosoy@reddit
Poorly. Thanks for asking.
gravely_serious@reddit
I don't care about superficial aging. It's gonna happen. What I'm trying to prevent is my body breaking down any earlier than it has to through better nutrition and exercise.
Karrik478@reddit
I'm a nearly 50 year old white man. Aging for me is just transitioning to another kind of sexy. I don't mess with perfection. The massive benefit of this age is impossibly deep and completely unearned self confidence.
besufern@reddit
Moisturizer, SPF, and lots of water for skin, but I’m more focused on my joints, my heart, and my brain. I’ve started doing strength training even though I HATE it, and I’ve found a couple of aerobic exercises I can tolerate that I do for 2-3 hours a week. I would rather look my age than look like I’m trying not to look my age.
upnytonc@reddit
Having very fair skin I’ve developed a love affair for spf and use it daily and have since my 20s. I also don’t spend a huge amount of time outside in the sun. I don’t smoke and drink very little. I also use serums and moisturizer on my face, neck, chest religiously. I’m not opposed to Botox. I’ve thought about it, but the thought of a needle in my face scares me. Plus it’s not a one and done type of thing. I do dye my hair to hide the few greys that poke through. I take a multi vitamin and use a collagen powder in my morning coffee.
shayshay8508@reddit
I’ve upped my skincare routine, started only drinking water (one energy drink in the morning though 😬) and taking magnesium at night for better sleep.
As I dive into perimenopause, I’m having a rough go with hot flashes and brain fog. I’m hoping to start on HRT in the next couple of years. However, finding a doctor who doesn’t dismiss my symptoms, is proving harder than I thought. Why would I lie about this?!
discostud1515@reddit
Nothing for my looks, but I workout pretty hard and still play lots of sports so I’ve started taking Bpc-157 for injuries.

I am willing to spend a moderate amount of time and money on some preservation for the sake of appearance. I am not afraid of gray hair and wrinkles, but there are things I really do not want like age spots. Also if the wrinkles could be kept to a minimum that would be great, thaaaanks. I gave up on make up and shaving my legs over a decade ago, and I'm not going back.
I just feel that I can still be fashionable and somewhat attractive in the arts/punk/intellectual circles. So while I have no interest, or money, in a Mar a Lago face; I also refuse to go quietly into the night.
I HIGHLY recommend every one of you get a red light panel though. Worked wonders on my frozen shoulder, hip and knee problems. Plus, better skin. Its a win-win.
katharsister@reddit
Retinol, vitamin C cream, moisturizer, sunscreen, and occasional microneedling. Exercise. Vitamins. That's about it. I'm excited to go grey and don't die my hair.
the_kid1234@reddit
Aging in terms of bodily performance and longevity? I am increasing strength training and cardio and doing some tests like APOb and CAC to make sure I’m around a long time.
Aging in terms of appearance? Other than sunscreen and standard stuff, no. It weirds me out when I see 30 year olds with Botox and lip plumper and all that weird stuff.
Difficult_Phase1798@reddit
I started using skin care products in my early 30s and drink a lot of water. Nobody believes I'm 45.
jambr380@reddit
I'm not psyched about it. I'm 6'5", have an athletic build, and a strong hairline so people probably look past me not having perfect skin, but it's still kind-of a bummer seeing myself up close. I don't like that I look like I'm frowning all the time. I hate the idea of taking medications or getting work done and want to leave that as a last resort.
So at this point, I'm just going with the flow, but who knows, maybe I'll be taking TRT and getting a lifestyle lift in a few years if I just can't take it anymore lol
SweetCosmicPope@reddit
My wife gets Botox every couple of months. She’s getting fake tits and a lift next year too. She was doing lip fillers for a while but she hasn’t done that in a bit.
I’ve thought about Botox or fillers to help with a particularly deep crease in my forehead but I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’ve also gotten hairier so I’ve been thinking of laser hair removal.

eh, botox, because I see how my dad looks at 77 and trying to slow that down. probably going to go on some sort of hormone therapy to help with muscle tone and fatigue. mostly just to keep up with my kids easier

I’m fine aging naturally, and my changing role in life. I’m also fine delegating heavy manual labor to the younger and less injured people.
Ippus_21@reddit
Anti-aging "treatments" are virtually guaranteed to be snake oil.
Botox isn't a treatment, it's a cosmetic procedure that can make your face appear less wrinkled. And there are a lot of risks and downsides. It does fk-all to treat "aging."
I'm sticking with the face I have, using sunscreen, staying fit, eating a balanced diet, and listening to legitimate medical advice from my actual doctor.
I'm resolved to be proud of my laugh lines and crows feet and the gray hairs at my temples.
I'm a lot less happy about my sore back and longer workout recovery, but that's just how it goes.

Sunscreen, retinol, and shade. Grey hair and don't care.
Disastrous-Tourist61@reddit
I'm 45 and look a lot younger. No wrinkles to speak of and very few grey hairs. My problem is the pain and exhaustion I feel from being a welder. I think I'm going to try testosterone therapy.
Accomplished-Key-408@reddit
I'm lucky in that Im 44 but routinely get mistaken for 32-34. Just starting to sprout my first dozen or so grays and I've kept my hair. I work out and lift weights. I feel that stating in shape us the most "tried and true" way to deal with aging effectively.

I'm wrinkled AF from working outside my whole life doing manual labor but I try to do no work exercise and eat well. I don't do any supplements or vitamins or anything like that though. Would be nice if dental care was more affordable.
MsBlondeViking@reddit
My plan is to embrace it. I’ve always had a good skincare routine, always use SPF, and I’m water obsessed. My skin is nice, and I’m always getting compliments on it. When people guess my age, they assume I’m only 30. The women in my family have all aged nicely, even the ones that didn’t care for their skin properly.

I don't dye my hair. I need to go out in a few, so I will probably pull it into a low ponytail. I only use a basic face lotion. I only wear makeup on days when I have to be at work. I wash my face every night with the amber-colored Neutrogena soap (or the brand offered by Walgreens or Target). My only form of anti-aging is my quarterly insertion of testererone pellets. It just helps with my energy and mood. It's all out of pocket, but I figure that I don't do anything else. That's my splurge

Thanks to years of dysmorphia and feeling uncomfortable in my own skin, I never cared. I've mostly viewed my physical form as an inconvenience, so how it looks generally doesn't concern me. Although now I'm flexing on all the other late 40's dudes by growing out my hair, I've got a very strong hairline with no thinning whatsoever, so I'm hair farming. I'm out here making the broccoli headed kids jealous because I don't need a perm to get that look, I just need a few months.
