From React to Backend: looking for a clear path

Hey folks!
I’ve spent about a year learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. JavaScript was rough at first, but once I got into React, everything finally clicked. Now I want to take the next step into backend development because I’m working on my first real project for my portfolio — Cake Bakery, an expense-tracking app with reports.
I’m looking for guidance because I’ve noticed that almost every job listing I check requires at least some backend or full-stack knowledge, and I feel a bit behind. I’m improving my current front-end skills, but when it comes to backend, I’m totally lost.
If anyone could share advice or recommend a good course to start learning backend (what to focus on first, what stack to pick, etc.), I’d really appreciate it!
