I have this hypothesis that a big reason for men having "kiddie attraction syndrome" is as a coping mechanism for failure with women at older ages. It's like they revert emotionally back to the age that they last weren't intimated by their female peers, or that the younger age in general sidesteps their insecurity with women because it's a very visible authority they have over them as adults over children. Theyis not that they're naturally attracted to the kids, but rather it's just a way to seek companionship while avoiding their fear of peers that would normally fill that role.

Not at all! It seems that many pedophiles have underdeveloped/damaged brains, especially the prefrontal cortex region. Many have also a history of being abuse themselves. It’s still not clear which path can lead to this mental illness. Evil plays no part in it, nobody chooses their attractions. It’s just a very cursed existence. Most pedophiles don’t engage in criminal behavior. And live a life of misery. Imagine a fundamental part of your being is that. The amount of shame and agony has to be huge.

Nah it’s probably both or the one or the other. We need much bigger studies. For example many have experienced great childhood trauma. But it’s very likely nothing you can develop after a certain age. Either you have it or not. First signs usually manifest in your puberty.

Society has to accept that it is in its core a mental dis function/ illness like any other and that the people who have it are not evil. There are still so little offers in terms of places where you can get help with those mental problems. And this will likely not change before society changes its view from, “those evil fuckers need to be killed” to “nobody chooses their mental illness and they need help and deserve it”.

I’m not saying people like that should be killed or harmed, but let’s be real: some individuals are true sadists who enjoy inflicting pain simply because they can, on anyone, even children.

And sure, we can conduct ten thousand studies analyzing why people develop certain traits or behaviors, but at the end of the day, each person will still have their own justification for what they do.

And by the way some of those justifications will be made up to make themselves not appear bad, reason why I’m saying this is we all go through things in life but not all of us allow sin to take over our soul.

I see your proposition is an eye for an eye until the whole world is blind. I see no progress in this. It’s a fact nobody chooses to become a pedophile, most of them will never become criminals. But the likelihood rises if they don’t get proper treatment. Money is less likely spend in this area when societal opinions are that those people are monsters and don’t deserve anything but castration or death. It’s most important to understand something before you condemn or judge it. Because you can’t change something without understanding it.

In addition to what the other person said, social isolation from peers, artificial or otherwise, breaks down inhibition when you're forced into a space with juveniles. Teachers and youth pastors spend so much time being the only adult un the room that they talk themselves into thinking the child they've got an emotional attachment to is mature enough for it to be okay. Teenagers are NOT little adults.

Yeah, I was a teacher, and I tried to do some study on the dynamics, and I realized how utterly lonely it was, but your honors kids are desperate for approval lmao. Fortunately, my judgment works correctly and I find children beyond uninteresting. But I understand how isolated it feels. I was on dating apps going out with other teachers constantly, lol.
