Hey everyone, I’ve had my Engwe e-bike for a few months now and overall it’s been great — it makes commuting a lot easier and I can go way farther than I used to.

That said, I’ve started noticing a weird grinding noise when the motor is under load. It’s totally quiet on flat ground, but once I hit any kind of incline, the noise kicks in and gets worse with steeper hills.

I’m wondering if this sounds like a motor issue or maybe the controller not managing power correctly under load?
