Just received a new M.2 drive from Amazon and the packaging was abysmal. How to proceed?

I now have all the parts for my new build but I'm not sure I trust the drive enough to put it together. The packaging is undamaged but I'm worried about static and other stress it has potentially undergone.
Any advice? Any test I can put it through to make sure it's okay in my current pc?

If the packaging is undamaged, then the drive is fine too.
Presumably it was in a little cardboard box with a flimsy bit of plastic. None of those things are conductive, so static electricity isn't going to be an issue. Unless there was a shock of electricity bad enough to burn the box or melt the plastic, it's fine. And if the box wasn't damaged from that, or from bouncing around from shipping , then neither will be the drive. It's a lot stronger than a cardboard box.

No box. Plastic clamshell held the drive and taped shut which was inside a plastic bubble wrap bag.

That's even more protected than a cardboard box!

Well okay then! Thanks for setting my mind at ease.

can confirm, mine came in the same and it’s working just fine

For example the NV2 is rated for 20Gs of vibration, which is A LOT. If the packaging is undamaged you have nothing to worry about

Thank you that's helpful.
