SS: Related to collapse as climate change has amped up the power and wind speed of hurricanes by an average of 18 mph since 2019, certainly leading to increased destruction from them. For most of the studied hurricanes, this increase was enough to move them up into the next Category of hurricane, whereas with Rafael this month it was enough to move it up two Categories. Expect storms to get stronger and stronger as climate change accelerates.
