Ugh. I just saw your comment then looked up the tour. They played at one of my fav venues in Chicagoland last month, and I had no idea. Seriously gutted. They are one of the last of my fav bands that I have never seen live.
Now that I no longer have cool friends, I hope AI will start informing me of bands I love coming to nearby venues. My knees probably have four or five more good mosh pits left in 'em.
Yes! Came here to say they’re still making music, still touring, and they’re as vital and engaging as ever. I’ve seen them in Seattle twice in the last few years, and they were great.
Last year Michael and Al did a podcast with their biographer, which was so interesting. They’ve got a great story to tell, not only about the music they’ve made over the last forty years but about how they made a living amid the radical economic changes in the music industry.
It’s absolutely NOT better. It IS different which as a cover is a plus imo. It’s a much different song than the VU version and it’s great. I love it. They are totally different songs.

Wowwww what a great tune

Remember this! Cowboy Junkies came out of the same Toronto scene that produced Blue Rodeo.
HerNameIsVesper@reddit
I was there! (Still am, actually...) It was an amazing time and place to grow up.
EdwardBliss@reddit
The local music scene has changed so much, Small to midsized venues have closed down, no more Now or Eye Magazine, etc.

One of the first on the mix tape! lol
IngvaldClash@reddit
They released a new album (Such Ferocious Beauty) and are touring again. I saw them last month and they sounded as good as ever.

Though what are you going to do about 10pm doors?
I noticed the CJ show that I missed started at 8. They know their audience!
zaypuma@reddit
Know their audience, yes, but I'm sure Margo and the band are also looking forward to a bath and bed.
IngvaldClash@reddit
I saw them at the Barrymore in Madison, a nice little 1000 seat venue, 30 years apart.
quietglow@reddit
They played the Barrymore too? I need to develop a system of tracking bands before they all croak.
IngvaldClash@reddit
Jeff Tweedy played there a couple weeks ago as well. Old 97s just last weekend.
There have been some really good shows lately
quietglow@reddit
I saw Spiritualized there in the late 00s. Epic show.

The Trinity Sessions was our 3am comedown album.
CptBronzeBalls@reddit
Best album to listen to at 3:30 am with close friends after a night of drinking.
Delicious_Degree6749@reddit
Love these guys. I'm glad they're touring again. Got to see if they are going to be near anytime soon.
Mackin-N-Cheese@reddit
This is one of my go-to songs for testing out speakers.
contrarian1970@reddit
Their version of "Dreaming My Dreams With You" is even better than the Waylon Jennings original.
Ahazeuris@reddit
Probably my favorite band of all time.
ekimdad@reddit
Thanks for this. I've been kinda having a shitty day/week/month and this was a nice soothing 3:30 minutes of my day.
Sea-Management-303@reddit
Their version is SOOOO much better than the original.

“the best and most authentic version I have ever heard” Lou Reed 1988 BBC. I just agree with Lou. No biggie.
solomons-marbles@reddit
One the most under-rated bands of all time. Them and Lo La Tango.
RetroactiveRecursion@reddit
My god I enjoyed the 90s.
feralkitten@reddit
It is still the 90s everytime i'm in my car.
Warm-Candle-5640@reddit
I used to listen them a lot- Pale Sun, Cresent Moon, Trinity Sessions, need to get back into them.

GloriaToo@reddit
Back in the day they opened for John Prime and it was the first time I heard of them.

I did a cover of this song! And I modified the lyrics slightly. I LOVE THIS SONG.
donkeywithhorns78@reddit
Was this song in Natural Born Killers?
klippDagga@reddit
Yes. The mix had dialogue from the movie.
Azzhole169@reddit
Never heard of the band or song, but then again this wasn’t and isn’t my type of music or genre.
WaitingitOut000@reddit
Love them! I'm so surprised (and delighted) that our American friends know this band.
HerNameIsVesper@reddit
Sun Comes Up, It's Tuesday Morning never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Cool_Dark_Place@reddit
Love this song! Great example of a cover being as good or better than the original.
Head_Effect3728@reddit
My CD player broke with Pale Sun Crescent Moon stuck in it. It was not a bad thing.
