Safe to flip Autodiscover to O365?

We’re in a hybrid deployment with all user mailboxes migrated. The only mailboxes remaining on premise are termed employee mailboxes retained for standard period of time (no delegate access) and system mailboxes used by our ticketing systems using basic authentication via EWS.
I’ve read documentation that says ALL MAILBOXES must be migrated prior to changing Autodiscover, but I’m not sure if that merely means all mailboxes that potentially use Outlook?
Can someone clarify?

I have a similar setup. Although some of the termed employee mailboxes do have delegate access. My autdiscover does point to autodiscover.outlook.com. I have not had any issues. No documentation help here, but anecdotal evidence from a random stranger online :).

For anyone looking through threads, experience now tells me it IS safe to shift Autodiscover as long as any on prem mailboxes you have don’t use Outlook 🙂
Thank you kind Reddit stranger 🫡
