True Life: I Wanted to Join The Foot Clan

Although Secret of the Ooze is the better film (and one of the best sequels of all time) the first TMNT had me by the adolescent throat because of the elusive Foot Clan.
How could a similarly wayward youth not get drawn in by the hand to hand combat training, petty theft, easy access to a/v equipment and hanging with the boys in a skatepark warehouse just outside the city?

The Nostalgia Critic has a good review of this movie. 👌

Exactly what I came here for. And those kids getting to the final boss on NARC, yeah right.

You know they rigged the machine so it didn't need quarters. Free respawns, baby!

I want a modern times remake where free *cartons* of cigarettes (in NYC especially) leads to the city being 86% Foot Clan.

I can’t believe this guy has only 7k subs. This video has JOKES.

Don't have to click it, already know and came looking for it. Watch it, fellow TMNT fans!

I was hoping someone would post this. This guy’s videos are pretty great

TMNT2 isn't better tbh but I especially wanted to be the Foot when I found out Kevin Nash played Shredder

General consensus I think agrees with you and #1 is excellent but I think of the original 3 as being the movie equivalent of the prototypical band run- 1st album low budget critical darling, 2nd album major label debut, 3rd album bloated overreach which is how we go from gritty realism in film 1 to horseback in feudal Japan. For me #2 was the sweet spot
201-inch-rectum@reddit
fun fact, most of the Turtles don't even use their weapons in 2
Mike specifically never uses his nunchucks on another living thing

Back then, I remember feeling like such an outcast because every kid preferred the second one (mostly because of Super Shredder no doubt), while I thought the original was better.
It's still in my top five favorite movies of all time!
thetwelveofsix@reddit
First one was a better movie, but the second one had better advertising and hype, including a popular song (which is the main thing I recall about the movie).

Claiming Secret of the Ooze was better than the original is an objectively ridiculous statement.
Dicky_Penisburg@reddit
As a kid, it was. As an adult, it is not.
GalacticCoreStrength@reddit
Who didn't want to hang out with da seredder?
GeetarEnthusiast85@reddit
Secret Of The Ooze is a good sequel but it's noticeably sillier than the first film. Apparently despite the success of the first movie, the studio wanted the filmmakers to tone down everything. Peter Laird spoke about this in the Ultimate Visual History of the franchise.
Also, the production value isn't as good as the first. The Turtle suits are noticeably poorer quality. Not as bad as the third film, though.

Relatable. I wanted to join the Wu Tang Clan.

Wu Tang is definitely for the children.
Wolf_Parade@reddit (OP)
I feel like they exist in the same league or universe but Wu is definitely the better franchise.
