Oh no two posts on the same day! This one’s an actual semi serious question.

So I’m lazy and have been sitting on a pile of different enfield rifles for far too long. Decided today I would finally finish one and get it functional. I tested the first round with the string method and it functioned fine with no problems other than failure to extract (I assume it’s due to no extractor spring). I tested the second round by hand and again no noticeable problems however upon looking at the brass realized that the primer was punctured. That’s when I realized that the rifle is a MK4 No1 and the bolt is a MK4 No2, are the bolts for the MK4 at all interchangeable?

Bolts are interchangeable, bolt heads are removable and numbered ( if I remember 1-4) try taking original bolt head and screwing it into the bolt you’re using and second try new ammunition that stuff is 50 years old

The bolt head has a 5 on it but the bolt body says No2

It’s 1 thru 5 then , what did original bolt head have on it ? Or was it missing? Number on bolt itself doesn’t matter

It was like my father. Non existent. Also it’s a No4 MK1 not MK1 No4

No4mk1 bolt heads should still be available. Rimmed cased guns are easy to measure for headspace . Just looked at Sarco , they had 0and 1’s for $22

Sorry not on desktop right now. Apex and Numrich also have zeros and ones which are shortest (.005 over .620 for each number)

Thanks for making sure the rifle is 🅱️ointed in the balls direction when asking for help 🤗

That’s a staple here, of course I’m going to.
