ULPT REQUEST: Guy across the street is harassing my family for having Harris/Walz signs up in our yard. (They have trump signs)

Ignore that shit, because you're a grown ass man, not a high schooler who is insecure about their identity and place in the world.
Engage with them in an actual conversation. Get to know them and realize that they are not fucking monsters, any more than you are. They're just regular people, and they're your neighbors. If you have an emergency, you should be able to count on them to help you, just like you hopefully would help them.

Long story short: don't let the "divide and conquer" mindset turn neighbors against neighbors. Holy shit, unplug from the constant brain-pollution of the media, go hang out with them. Invite them to dinner, have a cookout and invite all the neighbors, have everyone bring a dish.

Someone is ruining the sense of community in our country. It's not natural, and it's not an accident. Don't let that happen, fight back, by being a good neighbor.

That is not always the case.

While most Christian values are great, the catholic church as an institution is not so much. I would want to say I believe in Christian values, not in the catholic church.

A BML sign affiliates you with the institution, not just the cause. So if the institution is riling people up, promoting racism against other ethnicities or embezzeling funds, that would not be great. It really makes a difference and I remember there being these accusations about BML and have since heard nothing about them. For all I know they could have been cancelled.

So there is an interesting contradiction. Also we know the "too ethical" comment had nothing at all to do with the cause on the sign apart from being disliked by Republicans, but with passively showing resistence by placing more signs well within OPs rights and moral conventions.

And don't start calling me a racist or a republican, just because I dare voice that an organisation like that may not be that great. I have no side here. I am fucking German. (Black people are like number 10 in line for who gets discriminated against the worst, so of course BLM is not big here.)

I’m in Australia. I was waiting in line for our rural council recycling store to open with a stack of other people (on Tuesday afternoons they’d get all their new stock in so regulars would be there at opening on a Wednesday morning to pick the choicest items). The two old fucks in line behind us were going on as loudly as possible about how Trump was awesome and how most of Australia were triggered and stupid and so on. We could obviously all hear them and they thought they were being so clever. Not one of us said a thing. Fast forward an hour. We and everyone else had picked out any stuff we were going to buy. The two old fucks had a big pile of lumber and farm equipment. Oh no! Their vehicle wasn’t big enough to hold it all! This they said very loudly and then asked the thin air if there was anyone with a bigger vehicle (pretty much all of us) who would take their stuff and drop them off at xyz. We all literally laughed in their faces. They had to put everything back (no holds) or pay and then do several trips. I guess what I’m saying is that revenge is a dish best served cold. Bide your time. And smile at them in the meantime.
